what is this you driving?

i have a 1992 gmc sonoma with a 2.8liter engine with a 5speed manual trans. does it uses atf or gear oil if it uses atf what kind?

You could have an out-of-balance or out-of-round condition on the front tires, but similarly it could be something more serious-loose front wheel hub-worn front suspension joint-worn steering tie rod joint-loose steering box mounts-loose steering column u-joint-loose or word steering wheel attachment

Are you going to attempt this yourself? 1. Purchase a Chilton or Motors manual for the '93 Sonoma and see if this repair is something you feel equipped and prepared to perform. If so, you'll be taking components off the front of the engine (possibly removing the radiator, too), and you will need some special tools as well. Then follow the procedure outlined in the manual TO THE LETTER.

Check you fuel pressure AND flow. With line disconnected and in a suitable collection jug, you should be getting 2 litres + of fuel with the pump running for 30 secs. Have you got this? Let me know.

For the year 1991, was the 2.8 liter v-6, and the more potent 4.3 liter v-6. Both were throttle body injected.

4.3 V6 was the engine used.

Usally when the clutch is bad, you still can shift gears. Check the slave cylinder or air in the fluid line. Good luck

cold weather kills batteries this time of year...heres why..most batteries are a chemical factory..the acid and water separate as the battery discharges..also the chemical process is lessened when the air temps go below freezing by around 50% or more depending on the age of the battery..in extreme cold areas, external heat sources are required to keep engines warm enough to run..in alaska for example,the batteries are taken out entirely and put inside to keep warm..sometimes a fire pit is used to warm the engine from below (red hot coals no flame)..also in very cold weather, the engine oil will get very thick..in some cases the oil will actually glue the engine semi solid..locking it up..if its a cheaper oil that whathappens..I like 20 miles north of st louis in illinois and when it gets below 30 degrees outside i place a under cabinet 350 watt heater(used for keeping food warm to serve) upside down under my engine overnite..this keeps the block warm and the oil thinned out..and works very well for me..my car will start whe no one elses will in my neighborhood..hope tyhis helps you..

A whinning noise is usually from the starter spinning but not engaging with the flywheel. The solenoid or bendix gear may not be working which would require a replacement starter. If you heard a grinding noise, I would say some teeth are missing from the flywheel.

using a breaker bar or some other tool w/ 1/2'' drive, insert into idler, there is a square hole, remove belt tension, donot remove belt, but lift belt off say the alternator, it would help if you hang the belt w/ wire or something so as not to let it drop. using a 15mm wrench, remove mounting bolt to idler, remove idler. better to replace the entire ilder w/ pulley, as an assymbly, they wear out like any thing else. when istalling new idler, must be positioned correctly. theres a finger which protrudes out of idler, this must be inserted @ engine sideof idler. reinstall bolt, tighten, reposition belt, using breaker bar 1/2" drive again, remove belt tension, so you can get belt over alternator pulley, release tension , done ! make sure belt is centered, and on properly according to belt rounting. when satisfied w/installation , start engine, check your work, remember to visulize existing idler, etc., etc., before you start this so you can put on the new one on exactly the way the old one was !!!!!!!!!!1
