1999 sonoma I turn the heater to floor position and truck dies
If the heater works in other positions than i dont know if I can help you. When you turn on the heater it opens a valve from the hot water in the radiator and diverts it to a small heater under the dash. If you do this in very cold weather you may be dumping a cache of cold water in the tube into the engine chilling the motor if it was recently started. if it has been running and heats fine, then you have either a straight electrical or electrical/mechanical flaw. the cable opening the duct to the floor could be pulling on some wire and causing it to misoperate. Follow the cable to the vent and see if there is anything in the way. and yes you will have to stand on your head with your feet on the head rest to track it down.
Hot have to hold throttle open to start
I honestly am not certain what the cause of this may be. But what might help would be turning the idle up a little bit so that the throttle is opened more. Also the spark plugs might not be gapped correctly witch is normal for older spark plugs. I hope this information helps you out. I am sorry if it does not. Merry Christmas! :)
2.2 motor will the intake lay back when pulling
Your probably done by now but just take fuel line off at pressure regulator at back left of engine and use a removal tool to take line off at the left front of engine down near alternator and lift together. Much easier than taking intake off.
Where is the fuel pressure
2.2 engine as your standing in front of the engine is all the way back against the fire wall on the left side under a steel plate that has 3 bolts holding it on. The one on the back of the head you can loosen and not take out. Is there any fuel in the vacuum line going to the regulator? Will the vacuum line hold vacuum? If your answer is no and yes your regulator is ok.
Truck shuts down when it goes to idle
Hi.Check idle air control system. The system comprises a valve that allow extra air into the engine when the engine is idle. If the valve is stuck, if there is a problem with IAC wiring or solenoid or if the vacuum hose connected to the IAC has a leak you get engine running rough and turning off when idle.Check air intake and sensor (MAF and AIT). Replace air filter. Air intake problems may result in rich mixture and in engine turning off.Check EGR and PCV valves. These parts may cause rough idle. When the problem is EGR or PCV you usually get troubles also when driving.
Dash lights out what's wrong
Possible that the FUSE has blown but if the park lamps are working then the fault can be within the dash circuit. This can be a connector issue, it can be also related to POOR /IMPROPER GROUNDING of the dash circuit.Use a multimeter or a test lamp -12 volt dash bulb- to trace the circuit with one side grounded.
