My temp guage (interior) in my 2003 sonoma goes up
First thing to check would be coolant level in return bottle and/or rad. If you have a rad cap, remove it, start engine, turn heater on and add as necessary when engine at operating temperature as needed. Wait until you see increased flow through radiator before topping up and putting rad cap back on. It may be that coolant level is just low enough to cause airlock in heater core.
WHAT IS THE spark plug
For an Inline 4 like I'm assuming, 1-3-4-2. If you have a V6, I believe it is the "Kindergarten Pattern", 1-2-3-4-5-6.
How do you get to the rear drivers side spark plug
Take off the drivers wheel, inside the wheel well is a rubber flap. Pull the flap back and you can see right past the orange sticker on the steering column and have perfect access the the two rear spark plugs on the drivers side.
Won't start. fuel pump?
Hi, the pump will run for a few seconds to prime the fuel system, when the key is first turned on. The system primes to 55 psi.If the pump runs, and the pressure is good, then another issue is at fault. Other things to check are , spark, and to see if the security light stays on. If the security light is on constant, it will need to be scanned for codes. The fuel pump is very likely, and should be the first thing checked. Good luck...coop.
How much does it cost to change the spark plugs
It depends on how much the shop charges by the hour. The In-line4 cylinder is .8 and the V6 is 1.3 hour.
If the shop rate is $80.00 and hour the V6 calls for 1.3 hours it would cost $104.00 labor. The price of spark plugs can vary a lot depending on brand and type but the avrage price would be about $12.00 each.
NO HEAT BLOWING COLD AIR
Make sure the coolant level is full. If coolant levels are ok you made need to replace the thermostat .You can disconnect the heater hoses going to the heater core and flushing water through with a garden hose at low pressure. If the vehicle has the 4.3L engine these are quite prone to heater cores plugging up. Would try flushing the heater core first. If that does not work most likely the thermostat is causing your issue. Be sure to fill coolant back up after servicing and allow air to bleed from the cooling system.
