bad idea as water in a vacuum unit burns out the motor go to a vw service center and have them show you where the drain hose is an d clean it out on a regular basis

you will not really know the cost till the head is off. as if the pistons are damaged the price goes up, jerking would be the belt stretching. you will need a new head for shore. this would need the valves etc. but the main problem is the pistons, if they cracked or damaged. and the big end could be damaged from impact. in some cases it cheaper to replace the hole engine. as the time and cost a garage will charge in fixing the engine. hope this helps.

Any Autozone or O'reilly auto parts can do the fault code testing for free. Do that fault code first and post the fault codes you get from the test.

The problem sounds like your radiator its 12 years old clogged with sediment and losing pressure at the cap or vapor loss right through the aluminum you can't see it .Its a mist at driving speeds not at ideal . Do a pressure test on the system 14.6 lbs per sq " also check the heater core both in and out hoses should be hot and have good water flow . The problem isn't your water pump . Also look at your spark plugs take them out . If they are burn white the vehicle is not getting enough fuel . '

You need to cut a small piece of the plastic liner at the bottom. cut about 1/4 inch of just the plastic. not the liner. If you score the plastic half way through then you can snap it off. I put a little glue on the fabric so it does not unravel. THen you need to use a plastic hammer and a piece of wood or plastic and snap the liner back in. It fits in a channel and needs to be snapped in and work your way around until it is all snapped in.
