Unfortunately when you disconnected the battery, the ECU (engine control module) forgot the basic settings to run the car. That throttle body code is one of the symptoms. Try your ac if you are in a warm place, the compressor won't kick on, another symptom. I went through this twice already, once because I was putting in a stereo, the other time the battery went dead. Take it to a good VW dealer, call them first to make sure they can do it. I went to one and they said that this was not possible blah blah blah and wanted to install a new throttle body for 750 just in parts! Of course I went to a different dealer. It is a crime. So, call and find out if they can reload the basic settings. I don't know how you will get there if your car is auto, because it will probably stall at every light. Luckily mine is a manual and I could get through it.
Here is a link to explain further.
Print it out and bring it with you, it's helpful for the mechanics.

Make sure you tell them, reload the settings and clear the codes before you do anything else because the symptoms point to mechanical problems, however it is the computer that is fouling the system.
Good Luck.
