I looked up your vehicle in online partsbook, 3.0L engine, no fuel pressure regulator listed. There are three possibilities, the pressure regulator that I'm mostly aware, on the fuel rail in engine compartment. Next, mechanical returnless, the regulator is in a loop by the gas tank. Next, returnless, the regulating is done in the gas tank. I'd have to look.

If it is physically stuck you will need to remove the entire dash to access it and fix where it is binding up. Ford gives book time of 6 hours to do it. My best time is 2.5 hours. It's a pretty usual thing for the Taurus.

You can try to reprogram the remote by using the method outlined in this tutorial video -

got to your local auto parts store and tell them you need a fuel pressure gauge for up to 100psi, it will connect to a valve stem looking something like the one on a rim, it located on the fuel rail on top of engine, usually chrome going to 3 injectors one each side, pressure should be around 50-60 lbs, if lower replace pump

Key On Engine Off 255-297 kPa (37-43 PSI)Engine Running 210-310 kPa (30-45 PSI)

FUEL PRESSURE SHOULD BE 26 - 45 PSI. MAKE SURE FUEL FILTER NOT STOPPED UP. BECAUSE IT WILL GIVE YOU FALSE FUEL PRESSURE READING.YOUR FUEL PRESSURE READINGS WILL BE LOW IF FUEL FILTER IS STOPPED UP.

Check your fuel pressure sounds like it could be a weak fuel pump.If its not within the specs then replace the fuel pump and fuel filter.

There is no "vent tube" as such, and no difference between the sedan and wagon. There is a vent bung on top of the transmission near the TRS. It has a little black cap on it that should feel lose to the touch and wiggle around a little but when you grab it. It will be several inches to the left of the left side

Ford can cut a key with the vin#. As far as the fob, dealerships don't carry them any longer. If you can find one on eBay the dealership can reprogram it but most are too lazy and won't bother. Google "replacement key fobs", there are a few companies that sellReplacements and can program them for you. Pep boys and auto zone also carry replacements but I'm not sure about the programing.
