How to take away the play out of power steering gearbox
In some instance you can adjust the play in the steering box, there is a external bolt with a locking nut on it, I think wind it in a little at a time and check the steering when you do, don't adjust to far as then you won't be able to steer it properly, hope this helps
Loud noise when 4 high button is pressed while driving in 2 high
engaging 4wd at speed is not recommended as the syncro set up is for low speed operation only Using 4wd on hard surfaces especially with your tyres does not allow the wheels to slip and so you get torque wind up in the transmission. This prevents the gears from disengaging as there is excessive load on the teeth. To unload the wind up either drive on a grass/ gravel/ slippery surface or stop and allow the vehicle to run backwards. IT all amounts to driving technique and knowing when and where to engage 4wd. There are plenty of books /magazines that explain the damage that will be done to the vehicle running gear if run in 4wd for long periods on hard surface roads.
Can the cam sensor make the car lunge at any speed
No...The cam sensor reports to the ECU and if it reads an out of range or resistance too low or high, then the ECU defaults a value and vehicles enters Limp Mode and ECU turns on the CHECK ENGINE lamp.
My 96 yukon runs ruf on take of but fine the rest of the time
Sounds like an ignition misfire. Is the check engine light on? If so, there will be a trouble code that can be read by a scan tool and will tell you which cylinder is missing. You may have a bad plug wire or plug. Could be a coil but not common failure for this vehicle.
Ignition misfires can be noticed while under acceleration (loading the engine).
