I'm not sure if I understand you correctly. Does the air conditioning works properly it's just the sound problem and did it happens suddenly? For the strange sound, it could be normal and not. I imagine the sound comes from the exchange pressure between the low pressure and high pressure. To fix or knowing what is wrong you will have to get AC/pressure gauge install on AC/pressure tap under the hood and sync the compressor engaging clutch if it happens at the same time that the sound you are talking about. Pretty hard to tell online without earing it. But I ever listen to a sound similar to that. hope it helps

GM had bad stepper motors inside the instrument cluster,2003 to 2006 . These stepper motors control the gauge needles . Sounds like you have a few different problems . The smoke if it's white and goes away is just condensation in the exhaust system evaporating and the clicking noise could be the famous GM Piston slap. You can take it to the GM Dealer, there is an upgrade ECM program to help eliminate the piston slap noise when the engine is cold. You can also try adding some Lucas engine treatment to your engine oil to help with the piston slap problem. Start with that and hope it's not overdue for an oil change or low oil level in the engine.

Wild guess here, had a similar problem on my 2000 4x4 blazer, has an electric motor on transfure case to swith it into 2h, 4h, and 4l, would blow the fuse every time when switching, did is to replace the motor. Just confirm your fuse that is blowing feeds that.
