How is fuel pressure? He must try to start with ether, If you turn crank by hand forward and backward you feel how much play in timing chain?

ok I had same problem with my 1996 Isuzu npr 5.7 gas burner. on top of fuel tank are wires and cant remember if it was 3 or 4 but anyways one of those wires is your ground wire to the fuel pump its self. make sure the wire has a good ground on the frame and/or the bed body of the truck. wish you the best hope I could help you
