Where is the knock sensor located on a 2005 gmc
Do not replace with Autozone knock sensors unless you feel like doing the job twice as I found out the hard way. I replaced mine and a week later the check engine light came back on. Went to the dealer and was told they have seen this problem many times before and to use oem replacement parts only. The two sensors and harness ran me about $230 from the dealer but no more engine light and no more sputtering. Hopefully I can return them to Autozone as soon as I find the receipts.

If battery is charged and no clicking sound while trying to start.....many possibilities occur to me. If the security system is OK, then the actual electrical portion of the ignition switch may have failed. A manual will be helpful in locating this part...it may be several inches away from the key 'mechanical' part of the system.
I replaced mine with the help of the manual....regular parts house will have this.
Note: The electrical portion may disintegrate when removed. If not, then trying to open and fix it will probably be hopeless as all the litle springs and contacts fly apart. Good luck, Paul

i believe that is a faulty wheel speed sensor code. chances are you have a bad wheel bearing, the sensor is built into it, and is a common problem. you will have to have the code checked out to determine which bearing is the issue.

No, take your time and you shouldn't have any issues. Have something to catch all the fluid that is going to come out of it. Better yet, just drain it at the bottom of the radiator and be done with it.
Take your time on unbolting also....bolts like to freeze in position so be careful not to strip the heads.
2005 gmc sierra brake lights won't work
Hi and welcome to FixYa,
Your particular vehicle is not that common in my country. However on similar incidents, possibilities are:
- a faulty brake switch (above the brake pedal) (least likely);
- a blown fuse (likely);
- loose ground in the brake light wiring/harness (most likely). One way to test is to temporarily install a jumper wire from the body/housing of the bulb socket to any exposed metal/screw;
- open wire/connector along the harness from the engine compartment to the rear (a possibility).
To test for the presence/absence of voltage when the brake pedal is stepped on, a test light is preferred rather than a DVM/VOM.
Good luck and thank you for using FixYa.

I suspect sun shell gear in the transmission either way the transmission will need repaired or replaced.
