I have an '06 GMC Envoy XL. The rear air only blues from the top vents and can only be controlled by the front control switch. Apparently the rear controls don't appear to be operational. It's a manual system, not digital. All fuses are ok and rear blower works, most of the time, on all three settings. Just can't seem to change speed, mode, or two with rear controls. How do I test the rear control module to verify its probably failure? Thank you.

The testing procedure is fairly long ,to much to post here . The first test would be to hook up a factory or some other professional type scan tool an check for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes . Auxiliary HVAC Control Module The auxiliary HVAC control module is a class 2 device that interfaces between the rear seat occupants and the auxiliary HVAC system to maintain auxiliary air temperature and auxiliary air distribution settings. The battery positive voltage circuit provides power that the control module uses for keep alive memory (KAM). If the battery positive voltage circuit loses power, all auxiliary HVAC DTCs and settings will be erased from KAM. The auxiliary HVAC control module will perform a recalibration of the electric actuators when commanded with a scan tool or if KAM is lost. This will ensure the actuators are moving with in the calibrated range. During this calibration process the auxiliary blower motor will be disabled for up to 3 minutes. Do you know what class 2 is ? It is a serial data network for the control modules to talk to each other . Air Distribution - Auxiliary Control The auxiliary HVAC system provides ventilation for the rear seat occupants. The auxiliary mode actuator shares a control circuit with the auxiliary air temperature actuator. The auxiliary mode is controlled by a rotary knob on the auxiliary HVAC control module. If change of position is required for both actuators, then the auxiliary HVAC control module positions the auxiliary air temperature actuator first. All control circuits for the auxiliary actuators are at a low voltage potential until a change of position is required. The module then applies a high voltage potential to the appropriate control circuit, which will rotate the actuator. Air Speed - Auxiliary There are two separate controls for the auxiliary HVAC system. There is the front auxiliary blower motor switch and the auxiliary HVAC control module. If the front auxiliary blower motor switch is in any other position than OFF or REAR, then the auxiliary air temperature actuator mimics the set passenger temperature. The auxiliary mode will mimic the primary mode. If the front auxiliary blower motor switch is in the REAR position, then the system will only function with inputs to the auxiliary HVAC control module. If the front auxiliary blower motor switch is in the OFF position, then the auxiliary HVAC control module does not respond to input. The auxiliary HVAC control module can not request A/C operation from the PCM. The rotary blower switch on the auxiliary HVAC control module provides the operator the ability to select several blower speeds. The auxiliary HVAC control module provides a pulse width modulated (PWM) signal to the auxiliary blower motor through the auxiliary blower motor speed control circuit. The auxiliary blower motor changes speed based on the received PWM signal from the auxiliary HVAC control module. Power and ground are provided to the auxiliary blower motor through the battery positive voltage and ground circuits. Power and ground are provided to the auxiliary HVAC control module by the ignition 3 voltage and the ground circuits. Auxiliary Console Mode Actuator The auxiliary console mode actuator is a 5 wire bi-directional electric motor that incorporates a feedback potentiometer. Low reference, 5 volt reference, position signal, and two control circuits enable the actuator to operate. The control circuits use either a 0 or 12 volt value to co-ordinate the actuator movement. When the actuator is at rest, both control circuits have a value of 0 volts. In order to move the actuator, the auxiliary HVAC control module grounds one of the control circuits while providing the other with 12 volts. The control module reverses the polarity of the control circuits to move the actuator in the opposite direction. When the actuator shaft rotates, the potentiometer's adjustable contact changes the door position signal between 0-5 volts. The auxiliary HVAC control module uses a range of 0-255 counts to index the actuator position. The door position signal voltage is converted to a 0-255 count range. When the module sets a commanded, or targeted, value, one of the control circuits is grounded. As the actuator shaft rotates the changing position signal is sent to the module. Once the position signal and the commanded value are the same, the module grounds both control circuits. Auxiliary Mode Actuator The auxiliary mode actuator is a 5 wire bi-directional electric motor that incorporates a feedback potentiometer. When the module sets a commanded, or targeted, value, one of the control circuits is grounded. As the actuator shaft rotates the changing position signal is sent to the module. Once the position signal and the commanded value are the same, the module grounds both control circuits. It's nice to know how thing's work before trying to fix it .

High pitch whistling noise in engine compartment of 2005 envoy

There may be a small hole or cut in a vacum line or possibly just loose. Also make sure the air filter box and the big hose to it are secure and clamps etc are tight. Pulleys and belts can make a high pitch sound also.

My gmc yukon cluster connector switch was replaced two weeks ago but the cluster is not working now

Take it back. they replaced it, they diagnosed it. they should fix it right... I do this. Wires, plugs and computers. If I misdiagnose something and tell you it will fix it. But it doesn't, now the burden is on me to make it right. You already paid for the service. Take it back and make them fix it. If it were me , I would tell you to bring it back. Plus give you transportation. until it was done. On my dime..This is why I do a thorough diagnoses...Do it once, the first time.

Can/how do I get sound to play in factory dvd player (2002 Envoy) without using headphones?

If you have an active headphone jack, just plug in some PC speakers. I don't know how best to mount them or what kind of volume you'd get out of them but that would be quick, cheap, and easy.

P0107 Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit Low Input

P0130 02 Sensor Circuit Malfunction (Bank I Sensor 1)

P0135 02 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 1)

P0171 System too Lean (Bank 1)

Check your Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor, and it might be a good time to install a new Upstream O2 Sensor.

It might also be beneficial to have your fuel pressure checked if the engine is really running Lean, but this may be caused by a faulty O2 sensor.

Envoy hatch lock

There is a known TSB for this.... #07-08-52-003: Rear Liftgate Glass May Not Lock When Using Remote Keyless Entry (RKE)/Key Fob Transmitter/Door Lock Switch, Lifgtate Hatch or Liftgate Glass May Lock/Unlock When Rear Liftgate Glass Button Depressed - (Sep 13, 2007) Subject: Rear Liftgate Glass May Not Lock When Using Remote Keyless Entry (RKE), Key Fob Transmitter or Door Lock Switch, And/Or Liftgate Hatch Or Liftgate Glass May Lock Then Unlock When Rear Liftgate Glass Button is Depressed (Reposition Lock Cylinder Wave Washer and Adjust Lock Rod) Models: 2005-2007 Buick Rainier 2005-2008 Chevrolet TrailBlazer, TrailBlazer EXT, TrailBlazer SS 2005-2008 GMC Envoy, Envoy XL, Envoy Denali 2005-2008 Saab 9-7X -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Do This Don't Do This Reposition liftgate lock cylinder wave washer and adjust lock rod. DO NOT replace the liftgate latch or actuator. Condition Some customers may comment on one or more of the following conditions: • The rear liftgate glass may not lock when using the remote keyless entry (RKE), key fob transmitter or door lock switch unless the lock is pressed a second time. • The rear liftgate or glass locks, but may be unlocked when the rear liftgate lock cylinder button is depressed. • The rear liftgate locks but the liftgate glass may not lock. Cause These conditions may be caused by one or all of the following: • The rear liftgate cylinder lock rod may be out of adjustment. • The wave washer on the liftgate lock cylinder may be out of position with the cup side down. • Excessive movement or slack in the lock rods at the liftgate bell crank assembly. • The liftgate lock cylinder pawl may contact the rear liftgate glass latch when the lock cylinder button is depressed. Correction Important: Do Not remove the rear liftgate lock cylinder from the vehicle to perform this repair. Reposition the rear liftgate lock cylinder wave washer and adjust the lock rod using the steps below. Verify the customer's condition. Open the liftgate. Remove the upper liftgate garnish molding. Remove the rear liftgate trim panel. Remove the cylinder lock rod from the threaded lock rod retaining clip. Tip Place the tip of a screwdriver blade into the opening of the C-clip and slowly rotate the screwdriver to pry out the C-clip from the shaft. Then use needle-nose pliers to remove the C-clip. Remove the C-clip from the rear liftgate lock cylinder push button and remove the wave washer. Install the wave washer with the cup side up. Position the wave washer with the curved edges of the wave spring parallel to the tabs on the lock cylinder shaft. Important: Use needle-nose pliers to slightly squeeze the C-clip back into shape. Make sure the clip seated, you should feel a snap and hear an audible click. Install the C-clip onto the shaft and in the slot using needle nose pliers. Then rotate the pawl several times to make sure the C-clip does not rotate. If the clip rotates then the clip is not fully seated. Position the lock cylinder pawl to the full clockwise position. Pull up on the cylinder lock rod to remove any slack in the bell crank. Install the cylinder lock rod into the threaded lock rod retaining clip while removing any slack from the lock rod linkage. Close the lock rod retainer clip. Close the liftgate assembly. Open the liftgate glass while keeping the liftgate closed. Use the key fob to cycle the liftgate to the lock and unlock position while inspecting the rear liftgate pawl. The lock cylinder pawl should have clearance between the latch as shown above. If the pawl is contacting the latch, readjust the cylinder lock rod. Verify that the customer's condition has been corrected. Install the rear liftgate trim panel. Install the upper liftgate garnish molding.

My engine light turned on and had it checked. Said my engine was running a little cooler then it's suppose to. Why?

Couple of things here, one is P0128 code, this is almost always your thermostat and or temperature sensor located right above the thermostat. Do both when replacing the thermostat. The other problem it COULD be would be your fan clutch, IF your fan clutch is stuck engaged, it would be very loud and get louder as you go faster, sounds like an airplan. If your fan clutch is normal, it's probably the thermostat. If your engine is running cool, you're losing 2-6 MPG of gas, so it's worth getting fixed.
