If it does not go into reverse, then your transmission is shot. you will need a rebuild.

Did you reconnect the wires and re-position the clutch safety switch at the clutch pedal assembly? If this switch is not positioned or connected correctly it will not allow the truck to start.

Are you sure the light is O/O OFF and not O/D OFF I own this model trick and the O/D OFF is for the automatic overdrive button/ switch on the tip of the gear shift lever. Used for driving on steep roads as a way to control decent and not burn up the brakes in an attempt to slow down too quickly. I hope this answer helps :-)

check the battery ground wire.. should be bolted to the engine, battery connections also..

I am finding it to be a issue to be a transmission fault code. It is for the Solenoid Switch Valve Latched In Low/Reverse Position. Replace the Transmission Solenoid Pack and change the Transmission Fluid and Filter. This is what is being reported as the fix. $112: Search from over 10 Million Auto Parts

Someone needs to scan the abs for trouble codes.The two systems are connected, so when the warning light is on for one the other is usually on too.
