94 4.3 vortec intake egr port clogged
You must have an egr valve for this engine to work.Sounds like you are getting oil blow-by combustion causing carbon in the exhaust which may do due to a faulty crankcase ventilation valve, bad piston rings, etc. Whatever the cause, oil combustion produces the carbon, and you will need to fix that.
I have a 1993 gmc sonoma, put a new ecm in it but
The problem is in the start circuit if the starter won't engage from the key. From battery to ignition switch to neutral park safety switch to starter relay to starter solenoid to starter to ground and back to battery-lights come on so switch is good, next check the neutral safety switch for power in and power out.Once you get the start circuit working so starter engages from the key, then you can address the ignition circuit for possible no spark.
How to check if timing chain is the problem for
timing chain check....place cylinder 1 at end of compression then the timing mark place at 0 distributor rotor should be to number 1 cylinder. if not timing chain could be out of teeth3 major things for engine is air,fire,fuel.then you say you change the distributor ....is it in good position???

Won't start
As with any no start issue, someone will need to check for spark at the plugs and fuel pressure at the injectors to proceed.
