98 gmc jimmy fuel guage not working
No issues with the fuel guage that I know of , but you can follow the basic troubleshooting guidelines. Starting with the wiring disconnect at the fuel tank for a bad connector or bad connection. Only other connection would be up to the instrument cluster in the vehicle. Only replaceable items would be the guage or the sending unit in the fuel tank. You can disconnect the return line circuit or connector at the at the gas tank and jump a wire to the ground the that feeds the gauge and see if the guage moves, but don't and i repeat don't hold to long because the guage will go over hard over and could damage the guage. If the guage moved and I would suspect a bad float on the sending unit or a bad sending unit, either case the fuel pump assy would have to come out for repairs.
Where is low pressure connection on 1997 GMC Jimmy for adding refrigerant?
usually passenger side of truck. Look for the silver colored lines under the hood. One line is low, one is high. There are fittings on each line with a plastic cap. If you're buying the easy kits from the auto parts store with the fill attachment included, just attach it. The fittings on the lines are different sizes so you cannot mix them up. Be sure not to over fill the 134a because too much refrigerant will make it blow hot air also.
Liftgate not opening
I am assuming you have a two piece liftgate - correct? If so, pressing the button to open the window part actuates an endgate window release solenoid which disengages the catch, and it sounds like the solenoid is stuck. To repair this, you need to open the entire liftgate, and remove the inside trim panel to get at the solenoid. You can then try manually moving the actuator arm while lubricating the moving parts, and if that doesn't work you will need to replace the solenoid. This will require you to drill out the rivets and replace them after installing the new solenoid..
