Trouble code 1345 crank sensor/camshaft sensor correlation
I had this same P1345 code on my 1998 GMC K1500 5.7 for about 2 years. Each time the code was erased, the "Service Engine Light" came right back on with the same code. I tried replacing the cam sensor, but that didn't solve it. I had the timing adjusted, it was out -13 degrees. After adjustment, the "Service Engine Light" went off, but only for a short time. Adjusting the timing is just a temporary mask on fixing the real problem and eventually you will run out of adjustment. I read about this same problem on another forum and someone recommended changing the distributor gear. So I checked the gear and a the teeth were worn. Replaced the gear ($35 part), readjusted the timing and the light has been off ever since. Apparently the gears in 96-99 are soft and wear enough to throw off the timing. This code is telling you the crank and distributor are out of sync. So before you start buying sensors and other misc. parts, try the distributor gear
if you are getting a P1345 code.
I have taken the door panel off of my '98 GMC
Broken inside door handles are a common problem and there is not an easier way of fixing problem.drill out head of rivet with a 3/16 drill bit. Then slide handle assy. from panel. To install new handle attach the two rods you removed .Then slide new handle back into the slots and replace the rivet.
1998 GMC 2500 driver side door won't open from inside
standard problem; must replace the handle on the inside which entails drilling out rivets, etc. Easier to have a mechanic do it and the cost is around 150$... kind of worth it when you try to do it yourself. Let the problem go longer and the handle, itself, just lies there in a retarded fashion. Basically, the inside of the door latch has a piece of plastic that breaks off. Go figure. Build cheap ****; expect bad results.
This should have been made from a higher density material to offset this problem.
1998 gmc sierra wont start. battery is fine.
Did you try moving the gear selector to neutral ? Manual or automatic transmission ? Do you know what a wiring diagram is ? How to use a DVOM - digital volt ohm meter to test electrical circuit for the starter ? How to do voltage drop testing ? Where do you here the clicking ? Do you know what a starter relay is ?
Testing an not guessing is how to diagnose .
Starter Voltage Drop
http://www.bbbind.com/free_tsb.html Free wiring diagrams , enter vehicle info. year , make , model an engine size. Under system click on engine ,then under subsystem click on starting . Click the search button then the blue link . Testing the electrical circuit's is how to diagnose this , not guessing . If that is the best you can do you would be better off taking it to a qualified repair shop . This is how professional technician's diagnose .
Electric Testing Techniques You Need to Know
Transmission kickdown cable adjustment 4.3.1st
Don't really know for a fact it's your problem friend, but to adjust the cable, which controls shift on this style trans, leave engine off, raise hood, open throttle completely by hand, stick your finger, or something of the sort, into the opening on top of the plastic cable connector and depress the button on top over top of the cable. This is a ratchet action cable adjustment, when depressed the cable will fly back into the housing. Then the cable is adjusted automatically by the transmission itself and you need do nothing more. It's just GMs way of getting something serviced so it doesn't get screwed up by the owner or shade tree mechanic. See if it shifts properly now. If not yet, drive it a bit and give it time to adjust to its new setting. With the 700R4 and 4R200, could be either in your vehicle, has a lower first gear and normally will shift right away into 2nd gear after moving a few feet. So it should go to 2nd gear without much time involved. You can't hold these tranny's in low either. They will still go into second while holding the shifter down in first. Just the nature of the beast. I thought it best you know these things. Now, this one thing may not ever happen, but IF ever it will not go into overdrive and will stay in 3rd gear no matter what you do, it means the trans must be rebuilt because the OD is shot. Possibly the drum scarred and burnt up inside on OD.
1994 gmc backfires when i give it gas
Backfiring occurs when uncombusted gasoline gets into the muffler. You will have to figure out if the engine is flooding and why (can be a lot of things - poor ignition, problem with fuel pressure regulator or an injector, vacuum leak, etc.). Existing trouble codes (DTCs) will help you diagnose the problem.
1998 GMC Turns over but won't start
P1870 is a transmission code. This code indicates a slippage in the trans between 1st and 2nd gear shift. This code would likely have nothing to do with your hard/no start issue.
