I have a 1998 GMC sonoma that wont start. we have already replaced the starter (new starter works perfectly) and it still wont start. we were wanted to check the wire that goes from the key switch to the starter but we cant find that wire in all of our wiring diagrams. do you by any chance have a wiring diagram that you could send me or know what color the wire is? or even have any ideas why it wont start? Thanks
Let's say that the battery and it's cables are good and charged and tight. and clean. You walk up and unlock the car and get in and close the door ( is the security light on? ) if it is can you put in the key and turn it on and does the security light go out? If it does'nt then you'll need to reset the security system. The GM way. With the doors all closed and the driver window down, reach in and turn the key to start and let go. the security light will be on steady, between 10 and 15 minutes it'll be out. Turn the key off and turn it back on and the security light will be back on, agian wait till it goes out. Again after it's out turn it off and wait a sec. and turn it back on, the light will come back on. again wait till it goes back out. this time ( the third time ) turn the key off wait a sec and then turn it to start and if everythings alright it'll start right up or crank OK and you'll have to finde another problem but the security system is'nt going to be it. If you battery is'nt good enough to do this you need a new battery anyway and your going to have all kinds of troble till you chcnge it.

I have a 1998 GMC Sonoma extended cab and the Check Engine Light has just come on. I had AutoZone read the code "P1133 02S 1/1 - Transit Time Ratio", but don't know what it means. Can anyone advise?
I recently had the front main seal and the oil pan seal replaced as well as the fuel filter.
Thanks in advance!
P1133 - Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) Insufficient Switching Bank 1 Sensor 1
I would have the repair shop see if they either damaged or left disconnected the oxygen sensor for engine cylinder bank one upstream sensor, this sensor would have been disconnected if the oil pan was removed.

1998 gmc sonoma air conditioner - for a few days ac would blow but not cold. After gunning the engine once, the ac would blow cold the rest of the day. Now ac is not blowing cold at all. (the air does not get gradually cool / warm, when it is cold it is ice cold immediately)
Check the magnetic clutch is engaged on front of a/c pump, have the motor running, a/c on and fan on high, if the centre hub is static the pump in not switched on, this can happen when the gas pressure gets low.

I need to reattach the rear view mirror to the windshield cannot remove the button from the mirror or disconnect the plug for mirror lights.
Just finished this job 5 mins ago. To disconnect the lights, use a small screwdriver to lift the locking tab on the plug. It's on the top of the plug. You should now be able to pull the plug from the socket. First check for locking screws on the housing. If there are none, take a scrap piece of 2x4 and place on edge. Place the pivot arm of the mirror on top edge of 2x4 with flat side of mounting plate facing down. Gently tap the plate out of the housing using a screwdriver and small hammer.

Where is the oil pressure sensor / sending unit on a 1998 GMC Sonoma with a 4.3l V6?
It is at the very top rear of the engine behind the intake to the right of the distributor on a thin lip of metal of the engine block.
