How to stop my oil leak ? on my lt1 motor
Hi,
Most oil leaks are caused from a broken gasket where the oil is leaking or a worn seal used wear parts rotate.
You would need to find out where the oil leak is coming from exactly, so give it a steam clean using a degreaser to get the engine clean.
Then run the engine and try to see exactly where the oil is dripping or seeping from.
Then you'll find out if it is a gasket or rotation seal.It could even be a loose sump plug or bolt on the engine which may just need tightening to stop the leak. Hope this helps, let me know how you get on.

The right turn signal lights up but doesn't flash
In or near the fuse box under the dash, is a flasher fuse. It is round and looks more like a relay than a fuse. When you tun your blinker on and hear the clicking noise as it blinks, this fuse is what you hear. When they go bad the blinkers don't blink, try changing it to resolve the problem. To see what it looks like, go down to your local parts store to buy one before looking so you know what to look for.
Gook Luck and thanks for using FixYa!!
The trunk won't latch shut. It has the interior
Try this forum. I had the same problem and they were saying to take off the trunk release actuator. I did and it worked. Don't take the whole piece off of the trunk lid (although if you do, it's easy to put back on), but take the one piece (the actuator) off of the latch. I don't know anything about cars and I was able to do it. Not hard at all. Take a look at the forum:

Cable line to the hood release is broke where do i
these are no fun at all. you will need a long wire to go through the bottom up to the hood latch to open. it is best to have a body shop open it for they deal with this all the time with smashed front ends
95 Buick Roadmaster has been sitting for a year.It
You need to identify if the problem is fuel or spark. Try pumping the gas a few times while cranking. It's possible that since it has sat for so long, the vaccum has been broken and there's air in the fuel line. If you're able to start it after pumping the gas, you've solved the problem, if not, you've likely ruled out the fuel problem and identified it as being spark. In that case, try pulling the wires and check the plugs for rust or other debris. If they're dirty, wipe them off or if they're really in bad shape, replace them.
I need to install a thermastat
get new thermostat and Seal, Spray with white lithum grease and insert thermosat into new seal ring, clean and spray the seat of where the old thermostat sat. and spray with little lithum grease and install...tighten Cover bolts just dont whale on them ....i put my hand on the head of a 3/8" ratchet and double check them upon completion of the 2 bolts....Hey put a little Permataxte Never Seizee on the Bolts before reinstalling
Changed spark plugs to a set of platinum tips
I wouldn't think that going from .050 plugs to .057 would make that much difference and generally the platinum plugs run a little hotter. It could be a issue with the coil not supplying enough voltage to run the platinum plugs. Have you checked fuel pressure and changed fuel filter?
I cant seem to remove the ball joint on my 96
the lower joints are pressed into the lower arm from the bottom, and they are in TIGHT, try suppporting the control arm under the spring mount and banging it out with a heavy hammer or at least loosten it a bit, the new one must be pressed in, make sure it goes in even all the way the lip must be flush, grind the rivets from the upper and install the new one with bolts supplied, its a lot of work for a diy
My car keeps overhating because my fans wont come
Warning! I don't know how to fix this problem but I do know it's very dangerous to work on these fans. THEY CAN COME ON UNEXPECTEDLY WHILE WORKING ON THEM AND INJURE YOU. These fans can run even when the key is off. Take it to a shop that knows how to work on them.

How do I change the heater core in my 1995 Buick
- Drain anti_freeze low pressure air through the heater core will help empty it)
- Disconnect Heater core hoses on the engine compartment side of the firewall.
- Remove cover panel under dash.
- Remove dash board brace (small support brace that runs from firewall to glove box shroud surround.)
- Remove lower air box section. ( Many small screws so be sure you get them all)
- Remove air conditioning evaporator (Some times this requires the disconnection of hoses in the engine compartment, But try to work around that first to avoid having to recharge your air conditioner.)
- Remove the heater core mounting straps and screws.
- Wiggle the heater core towards the glove box to extract the steel hoses from the firewall bushings/seals.
- Be careful not to spill any remaining anti-freeze on the carpet.
- If you had a leaky heater core be sure to clean the air box the best you can to keep the anti-freeze smell out of the car.
- Reverse this procedure to install the new heater core.
I hope that helps someone in some way. It's not complicated but it is a pain in the rump to be upside down for that long. You may need to take several breaks during this process to give your neck and back a break as well as your knuckles... It's not an easy repair but it is pretty straight forward.
If I left any thing out please feel free to add comments to these instructions. Generally these instructions should cover most years of Buick Roadmasters.
Just an additional note:
If you have to disconnect your air you may have to upgrade your entire system to the new R34 system instead of R12 because of the new environmental laws in some areas. Try to avoid this as best you can because R34 is not as effective in an older systems as it is in newer systems simply because the evaporator and condenser are smaller and they need to be large to transfer the heat in the R34. It's not nearly as effective at the transfer of heat as the environmentally unfriendly R12 was.
