Shifted fine changed motors now won't shift to drive or overdrive

check that you have connected correctly the cables for the torque converter solenoid / servo unit as it may not be making good contact after the engine change . Also as the battery was disconnected for a time I would use a scanner to reset the CPU program as the program may be corrupted from the lost battery power.

Dome light

The wire that runs to the dome light runs along the carpet retainer on the floor of the driver door opening. It then runs up the "B" pillar and over to the dome light.
Have you checked the bulb and the presence of voltage and ground at the dome light socket?
I would start there first before tearing anything apart and make sure all is good.
Let me know.

Break lights, turn signals not

Without being there to actually do some checking, I'd take a look at the signal switch itself. (In the top of the column) First though, check the bulbs, as I have seen (but rarely) a filament in a bulb break and re-connect itself to the other leg of the circuit.

I'd like to be a little more specificas far as shift pattern what we meant was the pattern for the 4x4,or transfercase. we got the truck with no shift nob indication where 2hi 4low 4hi nuetteral

easy to figure out put transfer case forward if you move easy this is high try to turn if you are in 4x4 it will pull front and rear tires pull a little more toward the seat should go into neutral pull again it will be 4 high pull one more time toward seat should be low on the older chevys you my have to be in neutral the transmission to get transfer to lock in there are only 2 wheel 4 high 4 low and neutral you will know the differance

1983 Chevy Silverado, Glow plug light will not come on, Truck will turn over but not start, fuse panel has no blown fuses, I suspect the Glow Plug Relat but I don't know how to verify it is bad.

With most relays, you have 4 wires. One is power to the component the relay controls, one is a ground to the relay magnet, one is power to the magnet, and the fourth goes to the component, in this case the glow plugs. The ground usually comes from the computer. With the key on you should have power to two terminals and you would jumper the hot terminal to the glow plug terminal. Or use a test light or meter to check for power on the glow plug circuit.

I have an 87 chevy silverado that I had the fuel pump replaced on about a year ago have not driven much since then and now it will not run, it will crank and run for about a minute then stalls out do

try adding some stabil, or heet to the fuel and add some fresh fuel as well, sometimes all it wants is a fresh drink to clean up the run. Hope this helps.
