Chevy's don't use a relay like fords, rather they have a solenoid on the starter that your positive battery cable runs to.
Sounds like a fuel delivery issue, you would have to have fuel pressure checked, you most likely have throttle body injection..

go for the cheaper option replace the crankshaft sensor firstly.good luck.

Probably there is no gas. Try to see the spark on the plugs: pull out a spark plug and put it aside attached to it cable while someone else try to start the car, you have to see the spark.
If there is spark, the try to listen near the gas tank, when you put the car on ignition, you have to hear the fuel pump.
The car is not gonna start if you have vacuum leaking, so check the hoses in the intake manifold, nothing loose there?
Then at last check your timing belt, but the car should be running by now.

check fuel filter and/ or replace check pump and or replace

one is power, one is negative, and one is remote to starter.

there will be bolts under the hood down by the wheel well and in the door jam. take off all bolts and the fender will come right off. instalation is the same just reverse order

If you have an aftermarket trailer plug on it, remove it, or unhook the wires. They are shorting out. If you don't have a trailer plug, then check the wires at the back of your truck. They must be pounded from stones,and are shorting out.

there should be a brace under the starter that u have to remove to make clearance

take it off and dump it out

YOU MIGHT WANT TO CHECK THE BULBS IN THE REAR LIGHTS THEY OFTEN STOP WORKING IF THERE IS A BURNT ONE . IF NOT THEN CHECK TO SEE IF YOU CAN HEAR THE CLICK WHEN YOU ENGAGE YOUR SIGNAL EACH WAY IT MIGHT BE IN THE STEERING COLOUM WHERE IT CONNECTS TO THE SIGNAL ARM

1993 s-10 should have a 4.3 engine. Your symptoms tell me your throttle body injector is clogged, and only allows so much fuel to pass through it. Therefore, on a idle there is not enough fuel coming through to keep the engine running, or to start it. If you replace the throttle body injector your issue should cease.

You might be able to get one at a salvage yard, or maybe an auto parts store, but most likely if you want new you will have to get tube and all. Are you sure the oil smell is comming from there?

It is the brake light switch - mine burned out, Takes a few minutes to repair. Once you install the switch you have to set it to your pedal. I just step on the pedal and adjusted the position until the lights came on - real simple...

Hi. I would try changing the fuel filter. If its partially plugged up you could be starving for gas and that can make your emmission sensors give bad readings. Cant gurentee it, but it would be a place to start.

have u looked into a map sensor or mass air or throttle position sensor checkin those might help or o2 sensors have the truck scanned n c if any of thoes r out of voltage range

sounds like the over drive band needs adjusted or it is wore out hope this helps

check the vaccume module on the front axel it my have come un pluged or the electric connector hope this helps
