Brake lights 1990 dodge Dakota don't work is there an in line fuse that I am missing

Check the switch on the brake pedal first, then if you have power to it and power goes out when pedal is pushed you probably have a broken wire under the chasis

Heater blower switch seems to have a short . It

That's not the definition of a short. A short circuit blows fuses. You're not blowing fuses. An intermittent problem like this is usually caused by a corroded ground connection or corrosion in the electrical connector. Get a wiring diagram and locate the ground and power connectors and clean them

How do i remove the dash in a 1990 dakota for replacement or is there an alternative to correct a cracked and weathered surface. Thx

That can be repaired in the truck, contact a local Dodge dealer for a person that does dash pad restoration. Also body shops have these guys on speed dial.

How long it takes to remove a heater core in 90 dodge dakota 5.2

Depends on how much experience you have with all the procedures involved. You will have to drain coolant and discharge the a/c system, remove the a/c accumulator and brackets from the front of the firewall, disconnect the heater hoses, remove the dashboard from inside the cab, then remove the heater/a/c box. Disassemble the box to remove the heater core, then put it all back together. If you're fortunate, and have a little help, maybe 12 hours.

Problem battery goes dead after sitting. Did some testing that led me to lights , possibly dimmer or multi-function switch maybe ignition switch.

a dimmer switch is just a variable resistor and that only passes current at various ratings ( more resistance the lower the light similarly switches only make and break a circuit so your problem will be after a switch possibly a faulty relay or light control module some dimmer switches have incorporated an "OFF" section where the light gets progressively dimmer until there is a definite click for off If your switch has that option then at full resistance but not "off" position then there will be a current flow that will be less that what is required to show light but enough to drain a battery some vehicles that used this option were older GM or Ford products where the light switch incorporated a dimmer switch as well the pull to first position put on the dash lights and twisting the knob gave various degrees of brightness in the dash a further pull turned on the head lights

The length of the oil dip stick blade

Hi Collin: You've asked a question, but not mentioned the problem. If the handle brokr off and the blade slid down, the question should be, "How can I get the blade out?. If that's not the problem, I'm not going to tell, and I'm not going to go and measure the dipstick in my old truck.

How to replace my idle speed motor 1990 Dakota v6 3.9l

I had a 1992 5.2 V8 Dakota,so I looked over my Factory Service Manual for you The 3.9 & 5.2 are much the same At the front of the throttle body is the MAP Sensor On the drivers side the TPS & at the rear the AIS Motor Air Idle Speed Motor My experience once, was with a low idle, I replaced a worn set of spark plugs, cleaned the rotor & cap & was good to go That is what I would do & then remove the AIS & try cleaning it & the port it goes into I have a Mastertech OBD 1 Scan tool like the GM Tech 2 ,back in those years,so I could control the idle with it, to test it Today I just use the scope for TPS & Oxygen Sensors & moved on the a Notebook Scan Software I can not see from the manual the screw type, but it appears to be two screws holding it in & I would guess they are torx, like a T30 maybe If you can't get it to work or idle replace the AIS Make sure the cable & throttle shaft etc don't stick If you have to remove the throttle body & clean it good
