Front hub spline sticking out in my 93 bronco
Hello David Rowland,
Thanks for this question.
Back in the
old days... Wow... This is upsetting...
(that was the extent of
PLASTIC on the
RUBICON)
There was a time when I knew these things... I helped a couple of buddies start a
SUCESSFULL 4-wheel drive
SHOP... but by the time Rubicon was becoming popular... I automatically knew
these things (the name)
DANA SPICER was eluding me
but it is starting to come back. I did these things (4 wheel mechanic) because people that were dear to me liked it...
I enjoyed putting them together.
I have only been off rode a couple of times (in non-military equipment) and it was NEVER with fore thought... but always life & *****... Breaking'em...NOT MY cup of TEA.
(enough about this old guy).
ONE OF THE
right people... on fixya is Juriy Hawrylak
I don't actually think anything is sticking out... I think the end cap from your HUB-LOCK is missing... and I thin if you are resourceful you can find the right manufacturer... and buy the part.
Just for visual assurances I'm going to put an eBay hub on the bottom of this article

While driving engine revs up and down
unfortunately this is a very common problem with the Broncos. I love my Bronco but I could do without some of the common problems. Revving up and down could be caused by a PCM module. If you look on any Bronco forum on the internet you will see very many people speaking about these common problems. When the Bronco is running in top shape you can't beat one. But when they start to have problems you will wish you never owned one. Lol.
Why turns over but no spark no fuel?
Broncos are known for bad fuel pumps in the tank. Hopefully you do not have a full tank of fuel and will be able to drop the tank fairly easily. Please use a jack when lowering the tank as someone could get hurt. I myself cut a door in the floor of the cargo area to access the fuel pump without having to drop the tank you will see once dropping the tanks how this could definitely come in handy in your near future.
How do u change a starter in a 93 ford bronco
The first thing you want to do is disconnect the battery cables. the starter is going to be on the passenger side where the transmission mates to the engine. You will remove two bolts that hold the starter in. I would definitely have the starter tested or tested myself which is very common and very simple to do. Prior to replacing with a new or rebuilt model
Vibration and banging noise in front end right in
Sounds like U-joint. Also check front driveline shaft on 4x4, sympathetic motion can sometimes turn shaft when not in 4x4 mode. With play in U-joint, joint slips to one side as Torque pushes against flange to turn driveshaft. Basically U-joint is cocked and shaft is not running true to center plane. Also worth checking are front c-v joints if 4x4 vehicle. Pretty much the same problem can exist with these small joints as with the big joints on your driveshaft. The last areas are the motor mounts and transmission mounts. These can cause the same problems you describe. And remember that sound transmits differently through metal.
