Why my radiator fan won't come on
Check your fuses first They are 15 amp fuses If you turn on the A/C do the fans come on? If not it's a power supply problem because the odds of both fan motors being bad are remote. The fan motors use relays which should be located on the radiator core support, bolted to the top of the support on the driver's side. The ECM is what turns the fans on and off, utilizing a temperature sensor on the motor which senses how hot the engine coolant is. The fans are two speed fans and there is also a speed sensor which will slow the fans down or turn them off if you are on the highway, because there should be more than enough air flow going through the radiator at highway speeds to keep the engine cool. I hope I have given you some direction as to where to look, but don't just start throwing parts at it. Sometimes it may be cheaper to pay a professional to diagnose the problem and depending on what it is that needs to be done, it may be best to have the professional do the repair. I have seen people who have unintentionally done damage to their cars in attempts to fix their problem. They had fixed their problem, but did damage in another area that was going to cost them more money because they didn't know how fragile something was that was next to it, or something else had to be removed beore they removed what they intended to replace and forced the old part out and you can guess the rest. Good luck.
Left rear passengerside window not working
Check your fuses first. Maxima windows are secured by 2 plastic clips that are glued to the window and secured to the track with bolts that go through a hole in the clips. Remove the door panel and confirm that the clips are secure and the bolts are in place. If they are then you probably have an electrical problem.
HOW WOULD I KNOW IF MY 2001 NISSAN MAXIMA COMPUTOR IS BAD??
When you say "something is shorting out the ignition" Does this mean that you have diagnosed that it has no spark? There are places that repair ECM's which can check yours. Usually the charge is about $75.00 in the area I am in, which is Dallas-Ft Worth. Or of you have a friend with a Maxima like yours, You can check the numbers on the ecm's and compare them. If the numbers match, try your friends ECM. A scanner, if it is a good one can sometimes spot the problem.
I have no references at hand, consequently I am at a disadvantage. However, most cars have sensors which tell the ECM when the #1 piston is at top dead center, some use crank angle sensors and RPM sensors. In any case, they use two sensors. One to tell the ECM the crank angle and the other for RPM. If any sensor fails you will not get any spark.I haven't had any Nissan Maxima's come into my shop with ignition short problems.I'm trying to recall if that year had two different engines used in it. The VG-30 and The VG-30DE. The VG-30 uses a distributor and the TDC and RPM information is contained within the distributor. The VG30-DE is a distributorless ignition which is another bball of wax.You may have a VG-30. When you crank the engine, put a long screw driver on an injector and put your ear on the screw driver. Have someone crank the engine. If you do not hear a clicking sound from the injector, you are not getting an ignition signal. This signal tells the ECM when to pulse the injectors. When you try to start the car, does it try to hit on any cylinders at all? Look for false air problems. This is when air is leaking in after the air mass sensor , between the air flow mwter and the throttle body. A torn boot, hose or big vacuum leak can make the engine misfire badly, especiaally if you try to rev it up.A bad air mass sensor can make you think you have an ignition problem. A lot of the air mass sensors are interchangeable or at least can be put in place for testing, the plugs are the same. I run into more bad air mass sensors than I do ECM's. I hope I am not leading you down the wrong trail. Much of what I have given you is basic on these cars and I hope I have given you some help in solving your problem. Make sure you don't make the mistake that many weekend warriors make to solve their problems. They just start throwing parts at the car in hopes that one of them will solve the problem. That can be very expensive. Sometimes it's cheaper to pay a professional to diagnose your problem and then you fix it rather than spending untold hours trying to fix a problem which you have no knowledge or training.
Check the obvious things. See if you can beg borrow or steal an air mass sensor if you haven't found a torn boot. The Z cars use the same air mass sensor. Good luck.
How to adjust toe
Have your alignment done by a professional, don't try to do it. The alignment angles need to be as close to manufacturers specs as possible. For every 1/4 degree an angle is out, it's like dragging your tires down the road for at least 25 feet side ways. You'll be replacing front tires every few weeks or months according to how much it is out of spec.
