I have a 2002 Pontiac Bonneville that I can't get the windshield wipers to work on. We have changed out the windshield wiper motor, the control switch, and check the fuse.

Just replacing parts isn't the way to find the problem , viewing wiring diagrams an testing the electrical circuit with a DVOM - digital volt ohmmeter is . There are no relays involved . Do yourself a favor an take it to a qualified repair shop before you buy more parts that are not needed .

2002 Bonnville, auto trans, shifts

Sounds like contamination of the trans fluid as condensation may be an issue since it's only doing it while cold you may have particles of water in the fluid and it freezes. A transmission fluid & filter change may help but cars need particular fluids nowadays and using wrong fluid may damage components. Always check with the dealer for proper types of fluids.

I have an 02 pontiac boneeville My power windows and my poer locks will not work the lights inside my car will not turn on and my radio will not shut off when my car is turned off and the key removed.

Do you know what electronic control modules are ? Power Windows System Components The following components are used to control the power windows: • Driver Door Module (DDM) • Passenger Front Door Module (PDM) • LH Rear Door Module (LRDM) • RH Rear Door Module (RRDM) • Driver Door Switch Assembly (DDSA) • RH Front Power Window Switch • LH Rear Power Window Switch • RH Rear Power Window Switch • LH Front Power Window Motor • RH Front Power Window Motor • LH Rear Power Window Motor • RH Rear Power Window Motor • PWR WDO 30 Amp Circuit Breaker Power Windows Operation The vehicle is equipped with power windows controlled by the door modules. Each passenger door power window can be operated, either from a switch built into the driver door switch assembly (DDSA), or from a switch mounted locally on its associated door. The driver door power window can only be operated from the driver door window switch built into the driver door switch assembly (DDSA). When the driver door module (DDM) receives a window switch request from the DDSA, the DDM checks the Class 2 serial data to see if the status information is correct (i.e. ignition switch position) to permit window operation to occur. If the status information is correct, the DDM, either supplies power and ground to its associated window motor, or, if the request is for one of the passenger windows, sends a command via the power door serial data circuit to the passenger door module (PDM, LRDM, or RRDM) controlling the window. The passenger door module (PDM, LRDM, or RRDM) controlling the window then supplies power and ground to its associated window motor to move the window as requested. When one of the local window switches mounted on one of the passenger doors is operated, the associated door module examines the request and checks to see if there are any messages from the DDM prohibiting the movement. If conditions are correct, and no prohibitive messages have been received from the DDM, the associated door module then supplies power and ground to its associated window motor to move the window as requested. Your best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop that has the diagnostic tools to diagnose this . Do you know what DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes are ? DTC B3377, B3382, B3387, B3392, B3397, B3452, B3457, B3462, B3467, B3472, B3477, B3482, B3517, or B3522. Hooking up a factory scan tool checking codes and seeing if the door modules communicate .

My 02 Bonneville is having

When you turn the ignition switch to start ,it sends 12 volt input to the PCM - engine computer . The PCM will then energize the start relay in the under hood fuse / relay distribution box. Here is factory service info. Circuit Description Moving the ignition switch to the START position sends a 12 V signal to the PCM Ignition Crank Sense. The PCM verifies that the transmission is in the PARK or NEUTRAL position. The PCM then grounds the control circuit of the START relay. When the START relay is energized it allows battery positive voltage to the starter solenoid S terminal. Try moving the gear selector to the neutral postion when it fails to start . To eliminate or confirm the park neutral safety switch as the problem . Are any lights lit on the insturment cluster ? Check engine , security ?

My gas gauge in my 2002 Pontiac Bonnivile shows empty all the time

Fuel Gauge Troubleshooting Fuel Gage The IPC displays the fuel level as determined by the PCM. The IPC receives a class 2 message from the PCM indicating the fuel level percent. The fuel gage defaults to empty if: • The PCM detects a malfunction in the fuel level sensor circuit. • The IPC detects a loss of class 2 communications with the PCM. When the fuel level is less than a pre-determined value, the CHECK GAGES indicator illuminates. DTC P0462 The fuel level sensor changes resistance based on fuel level. The PCM monitors the signal circuit of the fuel level sensor in order to determine fuel level. When the fuel tank is full, the sensor resistance is high and the PCM senses a high signal voltage. When the fuel tank is empty, the sensor resistance is low and the PCM senses a low signal voltage. The PCM uses the signal circuit of the fuel level sensor in order to calculate the total remaining fuel (%) in the tank. The PCM sends the fuel level percent via the class 2 serial data circuit to the IPC in order to control the fuel gage. The fuel level information is also used for misfire and EVAP diagnostics DTC P0463 (3.8L) How to test fuel gauge tank sending unit P0463 GM

Diagnosing rear windows not working on a 02 Bonneville

Power Windows Operation The vehicle is equipped with power windows controlled by the door modules. Do you know about computer controlled windows and door lock systems ? Each door module has its own battery positive voltage supply circuit to use for power window operation, but they are all fed by the same 30 amp power window circuit breaker located in the rear fuse block. Each door module also has a seperate ground circuit to use for power window operation. These circuits are in the same dedicated connector as the window motor control circuits of each door module and are used exclusively for window motor operation. Each door module also has a battery positive voltage circuit and a ground circuit that are used to power up the module ,as well as, to control mirror and door lock functions. Battery positive voltage to the DDM is supplied through the DRVMDL 10 amp fuse located in the rear fuse block. Battery positive voltage to the PDM is supplied by the PASS MDL 10 amp fuse located in the rear fuse block. Battery positive voltage to both the LRDM and RRDM is supplied by the RRDR MDL fuse located in the rear fuse block. Ground for the DDM is provided through a ground circuit to G200. Ground for the PDM is provided through a ground circuit to G201. Ground for the LRDM is provided through a ground circuit to G302. Ground for the RRDM is provided through a ground circuit to G301. Window Motors Each door module supplies battery positive voltage and ground, through the window motor control circuits, to its associated window motor. The window motors are reversible. The direction the window moves depends on which motor control circuit the battery positive voltage is applied to, and which motor control circuit the ground is applied to.To move the window in the Up direction, the module applies battery positive voltage to the window motor Up control circuit, and ground to the window motor Down control circuit. When a window movement in the opposite direction is needed, the module reverses the polarity and supplies power and ground to the opposite circuits to move the window in the reverse direction.

All my gauges just quit working. car still runs fine. they done this 2 or 3 times but would always start again. this time have not come back on. turn signals and dash lights work just no gauges.

At the moment, your instrument cluster maybe faulty? Due the basic tests, try to be sure. Check for applicable trouble codes relating to instrument cluster--pcm--communication codes. Some of the national brand auto stores in this country may check codes for free, if there are any. Check voltage and ground circuits for the instrument cluster. The sending units for gages are wired to pcm then the pcm sends serial data to instrument cluster telling instrument cluster what to do with gages. If you want to check gage sending units, that's ok. If you have a scanner that can communicate with instrument cluster, you can get instrument cluster to do a self-test. The self-test, the instrument cluster will turn warning lamps on and off, sweep gages w/o outside data input. The instrument is considered good, if it passes that test, if not, the instrument cluster is considered faulty.
