2002 Pontiac Sunfire - Page 3 Questions & Answers
Replaced the oil pan and gasket on my 2002 pontiac sunfire. car will turnover but wont start. getting c1254. what does this mean and how do I fix it
Code C1254 appears to be a chassis code which should not cause a no start condition.
You should probably check to see if the crankshaft position sensor is connected if it was disconnected while removing the oil pan. Then , I would check to see if the secondary ignition system is providing spark at the spark plugs. To do this , connect a test spark plug to one of the existing spark plug wires and grounding the shell of the spark plug. You will probably need an assistant to crank the engine while you look for spark -.. If it does have spark , reconnect the spark plug wire to the spark plug and try a small amount of carb. spray ( 1 to 2 seconds ) at the throttle intake to see if the engine starts for a few seconds. If the engine uses a Mass Airflow Sensor be sure to reinstall air intake snorkel before attempting to start engine. This will tell you if you have a fuel delivery problem or not.
I hope this helps ya.
What can cause the bcm not to work at all
Either no power or the unit is totally bad. I would check for power to the unit. I have replaced them before but it not always go bad. Check power fuses and see which accessories do not works. Good luck.
