Fuel filter installation

Look for a canister about the size of a soup can. It should be under the car. There will be a line going in and a line going out The nut size on the canister should be 13/16 and the nut on the lines should be 5/8. When installing the new filter look at the filter!! one side will say "in" the other will say "out"Install the line from the tank to the "in" side of the filter. NOTE! The fuel system will be under pressure be careful when breaking loose the lines gas will spray out. The old filter will be full of gas and will leak so put a pan under the filter before you take it off.

Replaced thermostat on pontiac sunfire now there's smoke coming from coolant tank

Sounds like you have a leaking head gasket or damage to the engine from when it overheated.A leaking head gasket can cause compression to leak into the cooling system and pull coolant into the cylinders which is burned out the exhaust. It does not have to leak into the oil.A shop would check for exhaust gas in the cooling system and run a compression test on the cylinders.

hopfully the oil leak isnt causing overheating issue. if thats the case, your out of oil. if oil level ok, check coolant level, and if low, track down the leak source. make sure belt is intact, and water pump is spinning, etc. let me know what you find and i can help further.

Remove window crank

Look and see if there appears to be a plug in the handle over the shaft. If there is gently pry it out and you will find a hex head screw in the handle that is holding the handle on. IN all cars it is about 50-50 between circlips and bolts.

Fuel pump doesn't work. How

If you have a test light, and you are able to access the wiring harness under the car just before it goes up under the gas tank, the gray wire is the power wire to the pump. It should have power for two seconds when you first turn on the ignition or constantly during cranking. Check this diagram:

Low compresson #3 cylinder on 2002 sunfire 2.2litre engine

low compression and I assume you have the reading from a compression check can mean 1 of 3 things---the hydraulic tappets for that cyl are jammed full open so holding the valve open,or there is a broken ring( check by putting some oil --4-6 squirts from an oil can-- and retest compression-- or you have a burnt valve or cracked valve seat. Cheapest is to replace head from wreckers but which ever way you go it will be dollars

My engine light has turned on not sure why i just bought it and it was certified and etested and suggestions on what it could be

Could be anything from a bad gas cap to a bad sensor. The engine light has about 200 reasons it may come on. You can have a mechanic put it on a code reader for about $100, or you can buy a code reader at Wal mart for the same. I wouldn't worry about the check engine light unless the car acts up. My light has been on for 2 years now, and nothing has happened so far. Good luck, but I wouldn't worry. If you talk to some more owners of sunfires,m Id bet that 9 out of 10 will say their engine light is on.Hope this was helpful to you

When my car is in park i can hear a rattling sound on my drivers side it sounds like it is almost underneath me

If you look under your car you will see a tin heat shield in between the exhaust pipe and the floor of car. These are known to rot loose and cause all kinds of noises. This is located right where you described the noise. Sometimes if this piece is still entact, you can just bend it a bit and the noise will stop, but I would usually just rip them off and leave it off. Hope this helps you
