1990 Chevrolet Corvette - Page 9 Questions & Answers
Have 1990 corvette with slight oil leak on oil
Unless you are replacing the gasket, I'd just go around the pan and snug them up. I doubt you'll be able to hit all them very easily with the motor in the car.
Just use common sense and make them snug and don't overdo it and you should be fine. It will be clear which ones are loose when you put a wrench on them.
Good luck.
CAR WONT STAY RUNNIG
is it fuel injected? you might have a faulty sensor it sounds like a vapor lock, also you fuel injectors might be dirty or bad also check fuel pump pressure or a cloged fuel filter, or it is putting to much gas if your vette has a carb.

Try clamping the fuel return line with the appropriate tool that wont damage line and see if it improves if so you need a fuel pump or pressure relief valve.I know you said you had fuel pressure but you took that reading while vehicle was idleing so you cant check for pressure in above idle conditions. Is your air cleaner assembly as original with no holes or leaks from air box to throttle body? Its more likely to be a mass air flow meter. This problem occured to my vette while i was on holiday there.cost$89 exchange.good luck
Cannot find relay center in 1990 corvette
check the low side switch located on the ac receiver drier for 12 volts if so jump it with a paper clip if the compressor comes on then the relay is good if not the relay is in the fuse junction box under the hood. Most likely the pressure sensor.
We have a 1990 Chevrolet
IT'S NOT ON THE FIREWALL... 1990 Corvette Fuel pump relay is behind the passenger seat, in the small storage box...Take out the plastic shell and it's mounted on the wall ...people answering this had me looking every where...under the dash, firewall etc... If they don't know for sure they shouldn't guess...can upset someone by looking in places it isn't...

Check timing isn't running a little advanced, and check engine isn't running a little too hot.
Fuel pump relay location
My source says one primary & one secondary fuel pump relay. Primary is behind center of dash, on passenger side of A/C controls, in a relay block.
Secondary, is on firewall inside car, in front of center console. Hope that helps.
Cool car
Hey fastboyz, the car in the pic is a replica of a conceptual car I built 20 years ago based on the 34 deuce from "american graffitti" for a fellow by the name of Dan Hayden (from parts unknown :) clandestine street racing was very much an underground sport back then as you may well know, Back then the car was sold ready for paint, it featured a titanium/aluminum frame along with series ll frame connectors, and 4 wheel disc brakes, a 540 cid chevy (cast block) and dialed in at an aspirated 1100 hp backed up by a semi-automatic 3spd and strange rigged quick change rear end ( 4:10 - 5:12) it was a rocket to say the least and a lot of fun, it took 16 months to build and an investment of $60,000.00 back then, when I bought the car it was a shell I had an apple crate for a seat and chained a 283cid and 2 spd powerglide to the frame I would cruise the country roads drinkin beer.I originally traded an old honda 504cc motorcycle for the deuce if you can imagine, sure wish I had it now :) take care Paul
until next time,Mike
1990 corvette vat kit
well i have a solution thats not expensive, so if it goes wrong no big deal. ecklers corvette parts sell a product for 25.99 that will override the security system. its for 1986-1996 corvettes. hope it works.
Electrical
These may be switched via a relay that has failed; fuses are for protection but relays likely handle the current those draw. It's conceivable that all those have 12V made available when you turn on the ignition and then fused by the individual circuit thereafter.
I'm pretty sure Haynes or Chilton publishes a service manual for your car and they contain detailed electrical diagrams along with complete mechanical data and repair instructions.
Corvette 1990 automatic
i would do a injector test but they used to have a recall on this early tpi injectors so i bet thats where prob is
