What grade type oil for 91 chevy k2500 differential
Go to napa or autozone and ask. I do know that the 73 - 89 axles take the exact Gear Oil that is put into the SM465 Bulldog 4 Speed Manual Transmission as well as the NP205 from 1973 GMC Super Custom 2500 4x4 rigs
How do you replaces sway bar link on a 1991 chev k2500
Most of these are a simple bolt with rubber bushings and spacers. With vehicle sitting on the ground and ebrake set, loosen the link bolts on both sides without completely removing them, then finish removing one and assemble new parts in the order you removed the old ones, being careful to put the rubber parts and metal washers together same as they were. Do other side same. Now tighten the bolts enough so that rubber bushings are compressed just enough to swell the rubber to the same size as the retaining washer and no more. DONE!
Iginition switch troubleshoot on 91 chevy k2500
First I hope you have fixed the loose steering wheel the brake lights run through the steering colum and, so does alot of other componets. It sounds like you might have a bad ignition switch or a bad ignition key switch.
Truck wont start
Common problem here.If it cranks but won't start - check for spark at the plugs and coil, and for fuel spray at the injectors. Also check the computer for trouble codes.
1991 K2500 pickup, 350tbi,4l80 trans, 4wd not
On the full size, the front actuator is electric, not vacuum.
When in 4wd mode, a switch on top of the transfer case conducts 12
volts out to the actuator. Wire #50 (brown) is the 12v feed, and it
conducts to the light blue wire (#900) to the actuator.
When shifted out of 4wd, the switch opens up and no voltage goes to the actuator.
Check voltage at the connector for the front actuator (at the
front differential - it looks like a large bullet that threads into the
front diff.) If it has 12 volts, the actuator is the problem. If it
does not have 12 volts, check the transfer case switch and the power
feed to the transfer case.
I'll assume it is the actuator, if the plug to the actuator is getting 12 volts when in 4wd.
The way this actuator works, is it is a sealed chamber that gets heated
by voltage. When it heats, the pin in the end swells and pushes a shift
fork in the front differential. The shift fork engages a spline on the
passenger side of the differential, and boom! you have 4WD.
GM offered an upgrade to this actuator that is a motor instead of a
heated device. However, it requires a small harness addition, a spacer,
and a new actuator. It is about a $150 to $200 option.
Good
luck. The actuator is usually the problem 90% of time but recheck all
of the wire harness just to maker sure there is no short before
replacing any parts.

91 chevy 2500 4x4 5.7 auto runs fine cold but when
when the engine starts the O2 sensor volts should be around .5 volts or 500mv so the 450mv is correct now i don't know wither your next statement is 115mv of 1150 mv it makes a big difference, so get back with me and i will see what i can do for you.
