I have 96 blazer 4.3 vortec no spark from coil new coil an heat sink and module fitted + new leads complete distributor and crankshaft sensor fitted got power to coil but no out put.

not S10 dead hv coil means input to coil is dead. on this car, 1996 we look at the distributor wiring ,et al. to know what's up with that. and fuses tops the list all EFI AND spark fuses. and ecu.(VCM) the VSM needs 5 good fuses !!! #4,5,9,10,12 then learn to scan the VCM on any 96 or newer USA car it has the new the OBD2 scan port (16pin) just like now. see DTC errors cranked, p03xx errors are all that. CMP error , CKP errors end spark for sure. crank sensor or cam senors, 3 wire HALL sensors and there and the best kind is HALL. the VCM (ecu/pcm) fires the spark control modlen and it the HV coil. if CMP and CKP are not dead. crank for 10second (release not off) and release. if either 2 sensor fail now the scan tool tells you so.. DTC p03xx code errors. cam must spin, and not be timed by kids.(or hold my beer)
  • bad fuses (x5)
  • bad cmp/ckkp (dead cam timed all wrong)
  • bad spark control module
  • bad HV coil
  • bad wires to all this. page. of listed things.
  • bad VCM (if obd2 fails consider this, if no COMMS)
  • rusty or loose connectors
is CEL/MIL/SES lamp in cluster dead it must glow keyon. or lamp dead, vcm dead or fuse to ecu x5 dead. hint1,use modern scan too, not one from 1996 era many the only did 1 or 3 uSA cars then, (lack of 3 ports is why) all; modern tools work here, 2005 year up

Removal of headrest 96 cheve blazer

If one of the mounts for the headrest has a push button you push to adjust it up or down, then the other mount will have a pinhole on the inner side. It is big enough to insert a small Allen wrench. Push it inwards to release that latch and work the headrest upwards, pressing both latches as you go.

How long since a tune-up? Any applicable trouble codes? If you have the spider fuel system, that system is known for problems. I'd probably use a gage and check proper fuel pressure. Could be other issues? Intermittent can be a pain to track down.

1996 Blazer is bucking and eventually stalling.

I would think the CAT. they tend to clog and make a rattling sound when driving .Seeing you say you did fuel lines witch is another issue with the vehicle in a snowy part of the country they rust out but your fuel pump must be working because who ever replaced the line would have known if the pump was bad they last 10 years then you have to up grade to the new pumps I'm not going to get in to that now.The only other thing it could be is the fuel regulator in witch case just replace all of the injectors and the regulator comes as a unit .But I think its more then likely the CAT is clogged .

Your thermostat is sticking or your radiator or heater core is blocked up. If you keep running it like this you will blow the head gasket or worse (warp the heads or block.) if it's not already the case.

1996 Blazer fuse #9(ECM Battery) keeps burning out and wont let the vehicle start

No ! Do you know how to test electrical circuits ? Use a DVOM - digital volt ohm meter ? Use a wiring diagram to pin point areas for testing in a wiring harness . Fuel pump electrical circuit diagnosis no fuel pressure testing GM The #9 fuse powers the ECM , fuel pump relay , fuel pump switch , engine oil pressure sensor .

Hi, I have a 1996 chevy S10 Blazer 4x4 and after getting all 4 wheels off the ground have determine that when I put it in 4 wheel drive the front driveshaft (from the transfer case) does in fact turn

the front drive shaft when locked in 4 WD does drive the front diff that inn turn drives the both front wheels if both have the same amount of traction if one wheel is off the ground then the other will spin at twice the speed as that is what a differential is designed to do now if you have a problem diff center ( broken teeth etc ) the there will be awful noises, clunks and bangs as the teeth from the pinion and crown wheel mismatch and hit on each other no noises when in 4WD indicates a good diff center the next problem will be a broken axle at the splines into the diff center spider gears ( same as one wheel off the ground or in a bog) the only wheels doing the driving are the rear wheels next are the "u" joints or cv joints but again there will be lots of noises involved lastly and the most frequent is the drives at the hubs depending on the hub locks you have it will not n be locking in one or both wheels due to faulty actuator , dry damaged locking mechanism, stripped splines or not manually engaged understand this --unless you have limited slip differentials or diff lockers on the vehicle any 2 opposing wheels or any wheels on the same side that have lost traction and regardless of being in 4WD or not you will not be going anywhere so to fix --start at the drive hubs both sides to check actuation , engagement , then work back into the diff

I have a 1996 Chevy Blazer. A few days ago, I heard a clunking / grinding noise from underneath

This truck should not be operated on the street in 4WD mode. You need to investigate the front axel CV axel shafts as well as the outer axel carrier bearings. Damage to front brake rotors and possible lock down while operating the vehicle. Safety hazard exist, so do not drive until axel and bearings are checked and repaired
