I just had mine done in the same location. I sent it to the shop. The fuel tank had to be dropped, plus they found out that the abs pump wouldn't allow fluid back. I had some other work done ...$860 later it back home with me.
Not getting any brake fluid to rear drums to a 1997 Chevy Tahoe
Must bleed air from brake lines. Done so with help of a friend to pump brake pedal a few times and hold while you loosen and immediately retighten the bleeder screw located right where the line enters drum on the back. Use care, as fluid will start to drain out as air is eliminated in line. Do this repeated times. When only fluid escapes you are finished!

I don't know what testing you've done? How long since a tune-up? Any applicable trouble codes? To check codes yourself, at the least, you need an obd2 code reader.
In the diagram, see the pink wire at ignition coil, that is primary voltage to coil, with key on, use a test lite and see if there is voltage? If no voltage, that circuit is fuse protected, I believe ecm 1 fuse, under hood fuse block. You need to do some testing and tell us what you find?

White smoke coming from the exhaust system is a sign of an oil system problem. If you did not have this issue and no other signs of an oil system problem, I would agree that the sending unit may be the only issue and needed to be changed. However, since you have been told that smoke is coming out of the exhaust and the car is acting up under load (going up a hill) it is time to take action and make sure your oil pump gets checked ASAP. Before you dive in you may want to check the oil on the dipstick to see if it looks/feels thin or watery. If that is the case, you may have other issues like water in the oil system from a bad head gasket - water looks like bubbles on the dipstick. If oil of the wrong type was used, the problem may be that the oil is too thin to work properly and needs to be replaced. If the oil looks fine and feels like its got the right consistency, the problem may just be with the oil pump. You didn't mention it but have you noticed the vehicle running hotter than normal? If so, this is another clue that the oil pump may be failing.
Whether the oil itself appears to have issues or not, you still need to have the pump checked. .
When i take off my 97 tahoe jerks when i get to about 10mhr what could that possibly be? and could lucas help
Hello Alexsandra,
When you first start off your engine is going from idle to requiring more fuel and air to provide the power needed to get you going.
The first place to start would be to check for a flashing instrument panel check engine light or as it is sometimes referred to a SES light (Service Engine Soon) and having your vehicles computer checked for stored fault codes.
