I averaged 9-10 MPG in my 98 w/5.7 l vortec. cap, rotor, plugs, wires, O2 sensors, fuel filter, and fresh air filter are the best way to peak MPG's

nope, they started in 99 on the 1500's

micro bulb... pain to get at but it's easy to swap. Oreilly's autoparts should have the bulb in stock too.

If they are both 4L60E's yes. But I think the Z71 uses a 4L80E.

while is it a electric. if its that your just gunna have to take it apart and check ur wiring and make sure you don't have any shorts in ur wires and if that isn't it the start checking fuses..

there is ,what we call the parking pawl system. it is inside the trans.pan long rod connected to shift lever and rod 2 bolts holding the bracket might be the problem. if not .it could be more serious.But have a look inside trans, pan.

Code 135 is for a problem with the heater circuit for the O2 sensor for bank one sensor one. Code 300 is for a random miss that is not serious enough to peg a cylinder.

If the mileage is over 100k, it's ripe for a pump. Put your Nike's on and "Just do it". Really just for peace of mind, if the pump has not been done, it's due and they always go when you're trying to get a pregnant woman to the hospital or you've won a lottery and you need to pick up the prize in a hurry.

are you sure your tranny was not repaced with a junk one just saying

in the gas tank in the fuel pump

check your wires they may be frail. also check your spark plugs they may not be gaped right.

Possible not shimmed correctly. The starter teeth have to engage correctly for the starter not to hang up. That's what probably happened & broke teeth off. You had better check your flywheel around the entire circumfrence as teeth may be missing from it as well. Starter won't engage if teeth and flywheel teeth in same spot are broken off. If the flywheel teeth are bad, it will be a spendy fix to put a new one on... Rick
