How do you change the starter on a 1999 chevy blazer and where would the starter be located throughout the engine?
the starter is located on the passenger side lower motor. it has two bolts in it that hold it in place. it actually goes through a hole/slot in the transmission to the flex plate.
1st. disconnect the negative cable on the battery.
2nd. raise the vehicle safely and place a jack stand under the vehicle out of your way but near where you will be working(for safety).
3rd. remove the two bolts that hold the starter in place.
4th. remove the wires from the back of the starter.
5th. install in reverse order of above.
note: there may be little plates between the starter and the mounting points called shims. if there are then make sure you put them back.

This is a factory original system and I have found no reason for the alarm to go off (horn sounds and lights flash). I have to use the power locks to lock the rear gate and that seems to be a factor but not the only issue.
I have manually unlocked one of the front doors and manually relocked it thinking that would disarm the system but sometimes even that doesn't keep the alarm from sounding off.
Doesn't seem to matter if it is cold out or warm out. I've left the dome light off on the panel but that too doesn't seem to be a cureall although it seems to reduce the likelihood of the alarm going off.
Help! My neighbors are getting tired of the late night intrusions!

We need to know how to bleed the brakes
Start from right rear, then, left rear, right front, left front. Fill master cylinder. Have helper sit in car, have helper hold brake pedal down. open bleed screw. fluid and air comes out. close screw. release brake pedal. Continue until no air comes out. Move to next wheel. Keep an eye on master cylinder fluid level after each wheel.

So I have a 1999 Chevy Blazer. Specs: 4.3L Vortec; 4WD; 4door; Automatic Trans; A/C; power everything.
Here's my issue: Now that it's warm out, I decided to do the seasonal checkup. I also noticed today that with the A/C on, it's not putting out any cold air even though I could hear the A/C compressor clutch clicking. When I hooked up the refrigerant canister to the system, I noticed the freon was a little low but nothing to be concerned about. I brought it back up to 45lbs by what my friend told me (he works in the industry). Even though I filled the freon, checked any and all fuses for the A/C system, I'm still not getting any cold air coming out.
I want to get this done before I go out of town in 3 weeks in case it gets hot on the way to Shelton. Any comments or recomendations would be helpful.
kavalbe: Servicing the A/C is sometimes not as simple as adding some freon. Ideally, it requires both high and low side gauges to monitor pressures when charging a system. Additionally, many systems today don't us anywhere the amount of freon that the old sytems did consequently it is not uncommon to find cars coming into shops with the complaint of A/C systems not cooling and all we find wrong is that the customer had over charged the system.
Your vehicle depending on whether it has Automatic Air or not has two different capacity specifications.
Automatic A/C (2 lbs ) Manual (1 lb 1.14 oz )
Unless you have a means of measuring the amount going in, it is difficult to charge the manual system accurately.
In my shop, I always empty the system, pull it into a vacuum and then set my machine for the exact amount.
When the system is being emptied, I will record the amount which had been recovered to let the customer know if they have over charged or under charged the system.
The pressures will tell if there is a problem with the orifice tube or compressor or other problems.
This may be a situation where you may either need to invest in a set on manifold gauges to let me or someone here know how the system is reading, OR bring it into a shop and at least have them diagnose the problem to find out if it is something over your head.

99 chev blazer, service 4wd light is on. Simple things to check before the mechanic
There are a couple of fuses you will want to check. They are located in the under hood fuse box. The TBC ( truck body controller) and ATC (automatic transfer case) fuses.
If both are good, take the truck to your local Auto Zone and ask them to scan the vehicle for "trouble codes". Write the codes down and respond back.
Below is a diagram of the under hood fuse box and the fuse locations.

Driver side power window won't go back up on 99 chevy blazer but all other windows go up and down just fine. All connections have been checked can you tell me why this may be happening?
bad switch or motor
To check the motor the motor has two connections. One for up and one for down. Try hot wiring the connections to check. If it works the drivers switch is bad
