if it shaking it could be suspension. tires bent axel and rim. but that wouldnt cause to lose power...
fuel air spark ratio isnt right. that is just what it sounds like.
ignition time could be off.
in proper fuel adjestment in the carb/ or if fuel injected..

You have running, & turn signals but no brake lights? If you have 2 separate lens for turn & stop, that's your problem. Isn't yours amber for signals & red for stop? if yes, you'll need to stop at autoparts store or trailer/RV place and get a little converter that you wire in to correct that.

Sounds like bad plug wires or distributor cap and rotor.

check ingnition coil

Check to be sure there is the correct amount of preload on the front wheel bearings. Too loose or too tight will give you strange noises. Also, you may have a calibur hanging up or retracting too slowly. It causes the brake pad to stay in "Light" contact with the rotor and cause noises too. This could be an intermitten problem.

This is common. Usually it happens at the exhaust gaskets from the manifolds to the catalytic converter. Replace the exhaust gaskets.

Since I bought my van in 2002 the check engine light has come on whenever the engine is under load and I hit 70-75 mph. the stored codes were always a random misfire. The dealer threw everything at it, replaced the fuel injection system twice, the rotor and cap three times, plugs, wires, all kinds of sensors. I would NOT give up and kept bringing it back. They FINALLY fixed it when they discovered that there was "not enough clearance at the head for the valves" (?). The heads were removed, machined and some internal parts were replaced. Finally, I can go up a hill, hit passing gear and the light doesn't come on!

THE CRANK SENSOR IS LOCATED RT UNDER THE CRANK PULLEY. IT IS USUALLYEASIEST WITH AN EMPTY TANK TO REPLACE IT.

Basically an engine only need 4 things to start.
Spark
Gasoline
Air
Compression

Check for these in that order. An inexpensive spark tester can be bought at your local autoparts store.
If you have tested all of the Things above then look and see if you have a fuse burned out.
Not much else could have happened just by changing the battery.

the van makes a winding noise when running,it tends to shake a little bit and the tempature needle does not rise above 160 degrees what could be wrong

I have three of these vans, (206k, 335k, 443K miles) I ONLY USE GM PUMPS!!! any others i have tried are complete junk!...Second, make sure your tank is clean and fuel filter clean... I always use compressed air to blow any dirt away from the o ring seal before i remove the pump from the tank. You might consult with a radiator shop on what you might use to clean the inside of the tank. I have never cleaned mine, but i have replaced about 7 or 8 of these pumps. Even the GM pumps only last about 100,000 miles. i try to replace mine before they go out. i have never experienced a GM pump losing pressure, just all or nothing....Just make sure there is nothing obstructing the fuel flow and examine your inlet mesh on the bottom of the pump for any dirt build up...

there is an adjustment under the van near the frame driver side near the gas filler tube.. use a wrench to tighten the cables...also check and see if your shoes are worn out. the farther they wear, the less your emergency brake will hold. Finally if none of this works, you may have stretched cables and have to replace them....

The rear auxiliary heater and air conditioning control replacement procedure starts with removing the HVAC control assembly bezel (trim) from the headliner. Next, the headliner must be lowered in order to access the rear of the HVAC control assembly. This requires removal of the windshield garnish molding (A-pillar trim) and upper pillar garnish molding (B-pillar trim) at a minimum. You may be able to gain the necessary access by allowing the headliner to "hang" slightly rather than removing it entirely. After this is done, the electrical connectors can be disconnected and the HVAC control assembly can be removed from the headliner.
