a light come on with a box with arrow pointing down looks like waves what does it mean
This indicates a low level of coolant in the coolant bottle/resevoir..... this symbol represents the radiator or coolant system liquid level.
Warning comes on to warn of coolant level too low.
When the engine is cold...remove the cap and check level. Add 50/50 antifreeze/water to level indicated on the side of the coolant bottle or tank.
Reservoir Bottles/tanks are usually transparent and you can see the coolant level through the plastic.
When coolant topped off to correct level, lamp will go out automaticly...no need for scanner or shop to turn it off. It will come on as a 'self check' when you turn on the ignition and if level is okay will go out when engine starts.

The trunk of my car will not close because the latch seems to have broke. the latch won't go all the way around the bottom bar that it connects to on the bottom of the trunk no matter how much pressure i put on it. it seems as if an assisting spring may have broke or came out of place.
yes that could be the problem. try this putt your key in to the lock and turn it to unlock it , check to see if latch is open ,while still holding the key in the unlock position close the trunk and relock it with the key while pushing down on the hood at the same time. replace the lock when you can .there is no quick fix for this unless u use a bungee cord for it .

How does the back seats fold down in a 2004 Chevy Cavalier?
In the trunk on the top there are two straps that look like they go on a back pack, just behind the split in the seat. You need to pull those down and it undoes a latch on the back of the seats, which then you can fold them down. Good luck and enjoy your Cavalier.

what does code p0300 mean for a 2004 chevrolet cavalier-car is sputtering and stalling when idiling
P0300 - Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected
Basically this means that the the car's computer has detected that not all of the engine's cylinders are firing properly.
A P0300 diagnostic code indicates a random or multiple misfire. If the last digit is a number other than zero, it corresponds to the cylinder number that is misfiring. A P0302 code, for example, would tell you cylinder number two is misfiring. Unfortunately, a P0300 doesn't tell you specifically which cylinder(s) is/are mis-firing, nor why.
Symptoms may include:
* the engine may be harder to start
* the engine may stumble / stumble, and/or hesitate
* other symptoms may also be present
Causes: A code P0300 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
* Faulty spark plugs or wires
* Faulty coil (pack)
* Faulty oxygen sensor(s)
* Faulty fuel injector(s)
* Burned exhaust valve
* Faulty catalytic converter(s)
* Stuck/blocked EGR valve / passages
* Faulty camshaft position sensor
* Defective computer
Possible Solutions:
- If there are no symptoms, the simplest thing to do is to reset the code and see if it comes back.
- If there are symptoms such as the engine is stumbling or hesitating, check all wiring and connectors that lead to the cylinders (i.e. spark plugs). Depending on how long the ignition components have been in the car, it may be a good idea to replace them as part of your regular maintenance schedule. I would suggest spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap, and rotor (if applicable). Otherwise, check the coils (a.k.a. coil packs). In some cases, the catalytic converter has gone bad. If you smell rotten eggs in the exhaust, your cat converter needs to be replaced. I've also heard in other cases the problems were faulty fuel injectors.
Random misfires that jump around from one cylinder to another (read: P030x codes) also will set a P0300 code. The underlying cause is often a lean fuel condition, which may be due to a vacuum leak in the intake manifold or unmetered air getting past the airflow sensor, or an EGR valve that is stuck open.

My car runs perfectly find any day that it doesn't rain, but when it does rain, my car shakes bad. It's so bad I'm thinking about charging people for a foot massage in my car because the whole floorboard vibrates.
When it's running bad does the "check engine light" flash? A flashing check engine light indicates a missfire, which sounds like what's happening. I would look for moisture entry at the ignition coils. You could try misting water on the ignition components with it dark and look or listen for arching. It could be arching in the spark plug tubes so not seeing the arch doesn't necessarily mean it's not happening.

I bought this car second-hand 8 months ago, with 46,000 miles. It now has 66,000 miles. Since the day I bought it, the cruise control will engage and immediately drops off. I reset again and again and after about 15 minutes of this dropping off and me resetting, the cruise control will stay set. Sometimes it may still drop off after 10-20 minutes, but sometimes stays set for up to an hour. (I have not been on a long trip). I have checked all of the tail lights, signal lights, etc to make sure that was not the problem. Any idea what I can check next?
here are two switches that are the usual causes of the cruise kicking
out. they are both under the dash. One is the switch for the brake
lamps (stop light switch). the other is for the clutch if you have a
manual transmission.
if you follow the brake pedal up under the dash you'll find two
switches at the top of the pedal. (it may be one switch but I think its
two). the top one would be for the cruise control. if the switch is
loose it will cause the cruise control to think you're stepping on the
brake and that will disengage the cruise control
same with the clutch pedal if you have a manual transmission; if the
switch is loose it will indicate you are pushing the clutch pedal in
and cause the cruise to kick out
other than that you'll have to check all of the connectors. If it does
engage then the fuses and actuators should be good and it would be a
loose connector or switch that's kicking it out
also, i assume your speedometer works; if its not then that's your problem as the cruise won't engage under 30 mph

2004 CHEVY CAVALIER HORN WILL NOT WORK AND I HAVE CHANGED THE FUSES? WHAT ELSE CAN I DO?
In many cases this problem is caused by the rotating ribbon circuit contact under the steering wheel having a broken filament for the horn circuit, the part is known as a clock spring contact, u will need to properly disarm the airbag and remove the steering wheel to access the part. WARNING: Failure to disarm the airbag system can result in an unexpected Airbag deployment and possible serious personnel injury disconnect the battery 30 minutes prior to start of work to disarm the airbag system.
