1998 Chevrolet Blazer - Page 4 Questions & Answers
My 1998 chevy blazer is stuck in 4wd hi makes clicking noise under clove box
Clove box! How cool, you can bake a ham as you drive. (sorry, couldn't resist). Noise under dash is probably because you have a vacuum leak somewhere and a blend air door is flapping. Part of 4wd system is vacuum operated. There is a vacuum can under the battery (brilliant placement, huh) and the lines to it often fail over time. Use a vacuum gauge and piece of hose, one end in ear, to listen around for a small whistle = leak.
Has p0300 code misfire cyl 2 and 3
If it was just cylinder 2 or 3, the code would be 0302 or 0303. Instead, you have random misfires (probably) such that you should be checking things that affect the whole engine. Vacuum leaks, bad plug wires, bad coil(s) or ignition module are most likely, but even clogged exhaust, O2 sensors and bad battery can cause these problems. Yes, a battery can be good enough to start your car but still be bad enough to affect performance. If I had to guess, I would start by testing the ignition module. Most parts stores can test this if you remove it and carry it to them.

on my chevy blazer there are 2 pumps in the front resivior one goes to the rear wiper and the other goes to the windshield if you have 2 pumps one might be bad. there could also be something plugged in the hose. on my blazer the upper pump goes to the rear wiper. hope this helps.
Hi: I have a 1998 Chevy Blazer 4.3 The brake
Sounds like you have a bad multiple function turn signal switch.
A couple things to try
With your foot pressing on the brake pedal, Press the four way flasher button up and down, press and hold it down, pull up on it, or wiggle it. If the brake lights come on during any one of those replace the switch.
With the key in the run position pull, push, the turn signal lever slightly. If the turn signal or brake lights start to work replace the switch.
Let me know if none of those work, they usually do, and I'll get you some more in depth diagnostic info. I’m happy to assist further over the phone at

How do i bypass key i d system on a 1998 chevy blazer
The security, antitheft or lock picture/icon is a visual indication that something in the car's antitheft system is failing. In most GM cars and trucks there is a hidden system that most people are unaware even exists. From the moment you put your key in the ignition, there begins a constant line of communication between your key's security chip or transponder, to the ignition's lock cylinder, and then to the car's TDM (Theft Deterrent Module). These 3 parts are in CONSTANT communication. If the key is in the ignition, then these parts are sending signals to each other. The security light illuminates when that signal gets broken, even just for a second. When the signal breaks, the car misinterprets this as an attempt at theft and goes into antitheft mode. The car thinks its being stolen or hotwired because it is not getting that signal from YOUR specific key. This is why the security light turns on and shuts down your vehicle. This link explains it pretty well. http://www.diy-gm-security.com/
Need to take rear driveline out of 1998 chevy blazer
By removing the drive line you may move the car but it will lock up on you at some point,, the rear end, wheel bearing or broken axel will cause more damage, just tear into it and fix the problem before it causes you more trouble.....Hope that helps...
How do i add freon
Purchase a 134a refrigerant recharge kit (can & hose with nozzle & gauge) at any auto parts store (also frequently available at hardware stores). Follow the instructions that come with the kit.
If after adding a full can, there is no change in the temperature of the air coming from the AC vents, have it inspected by an ASE-certified mechanic.
How do i attach tio window the Rear view mirror ?
The mirror attaches to the inside of the windshield using a small metal "button" that is glued to the glass. The mirror assembly slides onto the button, and is secured with a set screw.
If the metal button comes off of the glass, you will need to re-attach it. Autoparts stores sell glue kits specifically made for this purpose. Make sure the glass and button are completely clean before starting (I like to wipe them both with a little rubbing alcohol to make sure there is no grease or oil on them as well), and follow the directions on the glue kit's package.
If the metal button is missing, you may be able to find one at the same auto parts store where you find the glue. If not, check with any GM dealership's parts counter.
If there are also other issues with the windshield glass, you can get the entire windshield replaced by a glass company. The new windshield will come with the button already installed. Your auto insurance may cover the cost of the replacement (check with them first).
