Reduced engine power

Less power usually indicates a ignition timing problem or in less common cases a clogged fuel filter or clogged breather holes in fuel cap (tank is sucked vacuum).

When there's unusual engine noise - stop the car and contact someone who can diagnose the extra sound.

2005 Chevy Silverado single cab. already

first, find another mechanic-really, there could still be other reasons for your issues (bad electrical connection, security system, crank sensor, ecm harness/connector or ecm itself) but throwing parts at the problem is expensive, foolish and frustrating-another mechanic will have a fresh perspective, and you are having no success with the one your are spending all that money with-your vehicle is NOT that old and should not be difficult to diagnose.

Missing have had new plugs

Before you go all out and buy an ECM I would check with your ignition coil. The middle wire that goes from your distirbuter cap will lead you right to the ignition coil. It could be sparking on something metal around that area. Hope this helps, James Booth

My 2005 Silverado 4.3 starts

If no evidence of anything wrong with the codes your being told to check. It might be your ECM is bad, I had a friend had similar problems and they put a new ECM in it and it ran great again.

My trans will not down shift and when you take off

Has the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) been tested for fault codes? if not get this done firs. This transmissions shifting is controlled by a computer via electric shift solenoids inside the transmission pan mounted to the valve body.

Headlights and dash lights flicker / pulsate one

Check for a loose ground wire(s). If you cant find a loose ground wire check the ground post on the battery. sometimes the ground post will break off inside the battery(especialy w/ the cheap junk they have for batteries now)Sometimes you can solve a ground or negative issue by running a secondary ground from the battery to say the firewall or frame. Make sure you clean off any paint and undercoating down to the bare metal at the point you are attaching the new ground to.once the ground is established put some light paint on the spot to keep out rust.
