No start on duramax at time when hot
IF THIS IS AN 2007 YEAR THE FUEL PUMP SHOULD BE IN THE TANK. IF THIS IS A DEISEL THE PUMP COULD BE ON THE FRAME RAIL BUT ONLY HAS ONE PUMP THE PUMP RUNS BOTH TANKS.
CHECK FOR ANY CRACKS IN THE FUEL LINE ALSO. BUT IT SOUNDS LIKE THE FUEL DRAINS BACK INTO THE TANK WHEN IT SETS THIS IS A SIGN THAT THE FUEL PUMP IS NOT HOLDING IT'S PRIME AND THIS NEEDS TO BE REPLACED
How do i reset the oil life on a 2005 gmc c8500...
Most often you need a code reader with a reset function that can connect to the computer jack under the dash and reset factory functions like that. Pain in the tush if you are changing your own oil. Mechanics and dealers have the equipment to do that reset.
Turbo noise
I'm not positive (from the description) but you may be describing a loose clamp or torn hose. You should carefully check the related plumping that the charged air travels through (from the turbo, through the air cooler, then back to the intake. If you don't have an air-leak then I would check around the turbo. Check the waist-gate for seized linkage. If you need more information please write back and let me know, good luck.
2006 chevy silverado manual window stuck
Only 2-3 things left that can cause this. Either the tracks have bent and makes the windows pry and lift abnormally, or the door frame is bent or rusted and jams the window. I've seen rust ballooning the metal before and causing this, and as most cars/trucks have rubber liners over the metal to prevent buffing the paint on the door tracks, it's not always easy to see, so you might want to pry the rubber a bit to have a look or completely remove the vertical linings to inspect. Hope this helps.
When i hold key on,glow plug light never turns off
Sounds like the GPCM needs to be scanned for codes. There were issues if the truck was jump started with the key on. The GPCM would stick and command the glow plugs on to long causing damage to the glow plugs themselves, resulting in possible costly engine repairs.
Trouble code u1000
The "U" means Network communications. The 1000 means the same thing. Translation: computor and/or computor conections.
P0964
I sure hope you are not Towing in OVERDRIVE... If a P2563 is found, it may be caused by an unstable Solenoid Control
Valve (SCV). Unstable SCV operation may be induced by engine debris or
sludge. To diagnose an unstable SCV complete the procedure below.
Test the VPS (Vane Position Sensor) operation. Actuate the VPS plunger
and monitor the sensor voltage on the Tech 2. The VPS body should be
grounded during this test. Touch the brass body of the VPS to the turbo
center housing to complete the ground. Voltage should go from 4.9v to
0.25v as the plunger is depressed. If the sensor operates correctly, go
to next step, or replace the VPS as necessary.
Note: It's normal for voltage to jump back to 4.9v if the plunger is completely depressed.
Command turbo vane position from 10% to 90%, back and forth, several
times. During each cycle, monitor the actual turbo vane position sensor
reading. The vane position should reach the desired position, and hold
steady. If vane position oscillates back and forth more than 5% before
stabilizing at the desired position, replace the solenoid control valve.
Note: Debris or sludge build up in the SCV can cause the valve's
stability to deteriorate. This can be aggravated by not following oil
change intervals and/or extended idling in combination with use of
biofuels.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete
each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing
every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
