I've got a 1988 chevy Celebrity. I need to know what size the torx bolts are to remove the calipers. They are not allen heads. Thank you

Probably a T-50. Due to the use of Locktite on these bolts, an impact wrench will be required. Do not use Locktight when reinstalling these bolt. Just get them tight ( 1/2 in. drive ratchet)

1988 Chevy celebrity. Went to change rear brake shoes and the drum is free but hangs on the right shoe won't come off. How do I get it off?

Before trying to take the drum off, you could have used a rubber hammer give it a few licks around. On the back side of backing plate should be a cavity where you can use a break tool or screwdriver to release brakes from drum. Put the drum back on and see if it will come off the right side, first. My biggest problem is I can't see anything from here.

I have a 88 chevy celebrity wagon, 2.6. What is happening is when I go to start the car,it will start but then stall right away. If it starts and you can catch the gas quick enough it will run. It

First you add octane booster to two year old gas. It is too late for stabil. Find the idle air solenoid and take it out and clean it with throttle body cleaner. Try not to push it in or out. Reinstall and turn on key for I min. and off for 1 min. then start the car.

Car will run for about 20-30 minutes and shuts off. But will start again...?

have the fuel pressure checked to ensure that it's consistent. If you have a cel light on check for those codes as well. also check for a vacuum leak and check for a stuck egr valve.

Location of ignition modular

The ignition module is what the coils are mounted to if you have an engine without a distributor.

Will start and run but if u turn it off 4 a min it

That problem is most likely the ignition module inside of the distributor, and you can remove it and have it tested for free at most auto part stores.

The ignition module could also have been damaged by a faulty ignition coil or a damaged distributor cap that allowed secondary voltage to flow over the ignition module, or a shorted pick-up coil inside of the distributor could also have caused the ignition module to malfunction, and in that case you should replace the distributor. (if the ignition module does test out to be alright then the pick-up coil is the next likely culprit)

Be sure that if you purchase a new ignition module that it does come with either a silicone grease, or a die-electric compound, and be very certain that you completely cover the metal mounting contact area under the ignition module with that silicone grease or die-electric compound because it is a heat sink and the ignition module will overheat without it, and be very careful that you do not over-tighten the ignition module or it will be damaged.

Be sure that you also clean off the mounting surface for the ignition module on the inside of the distributor very well before you install the ignition module, and if installing the old module back into the distributor be sure to obtain either silicone grease or a die-electric compound for it.

My car just stopped running and it turns over but wont start.

Someone will have to diagnose the ignition system. It could be a relay, the ignition module, cap and rotor if equipped, or a long list of other things. Is the check engine light on ? Have you checked it for trouble codes ?
