This may sound crazy but, I believe they feed through the cluster. I have had durangos and grand cherokees with problems like this. The durango was an 04 and the dome lights would not shut off. The grand cherokee was a radio that would not shut off. It was in the Insterment Cluster both times. I have not seen this problem with a dakota however. I am betting the same manufactor makes all of their clusters.

didid u erase the code after replacement of coils the code reader should have an erase button on it if so then you may have bigger problems like a bent valve if the truck is still running bad if its just the light on then try unhooking the negative battery cable for a while the hook it back up it should reset the light

Might try jump starting it. sounds like a battery issue.
