If cruise control main light comes on but you cannot set a speed (no set), you could have a bad brake pedal switch. (If the cruise control light comes on, chances are that it is NOT a fuse issue). Some vehicles have two switches (one for brake lights and one for cruise control cancel) and others have a multifunctional, single switch. The function to cancel cruise control is very sensitive so it only takes a small movement of the pedal to cancel cruise control. You can try lifting on the brake pedal while trying to set the cruise, but this does not alway work. Replace switches are pretty cheap (less than $30) and pretty easy and quick to replace.

You may not have one. If you have a Mass Air Flow sensor, very possible there is no map sensor. I have a '92 LeSabre, and it does not have a map sensor, only the MAF sensor. I have seen a 2005 Buick Century that has both the MAF and a map sensor. On that one, the MAP sensor is on top of the intake manifold, on the passenger side of car.

You have security system on this vehicle, correct? You have that old vats system with pellet in key? Sometimes the wiring from the key cylinder has problems? This system will keep the starter from operating and fuel injectors.

Either it's time for a major tune-up, or your fuel system is losing pressure. To test this, when first starting the car in the morning, turn the key off and on to the count of ON (five seconds) OFF (five seconds) three or four times, then turn the key to ON and leave it for five seconds or more. Then, start the car and see if it is still difficult to start. If it starts more easily, the fuel system is losing pressure overnight. Verify that at least 35 psi is retained at the fuel rail overnight. If the pressure is less than 35 psi in the morning after the vehicle as sat overnight, replace the fuel pressure regulator and check for fuel leaks from the rail or supply lines. Check the fuel pump to be sure it is properly operating and that the check valve is not allowing fuel to bleed back into the tank. If your fuel pressure retention at the fuel rail is good, it's just time for a major tune up. If you've been using ethanol blend fuel in that vehicle, you may have a moisture contamination issue with the fuel, and you'll need to replace ALL FUEL in the vehicle as a diagnostic measure. Try to avoid using ethanol blend fuels in that vehicle if at all possible.
