I have a buick century 2003. When it came time for my oil change 3 months ago my service engine soon light came on. When the car was serviced the light went off. When I had my oil changed this time my light stayed on. Buick man told me they did not reset the service engine light, Dealer wants to charge me $85.00 to diagnose the problem. Where is the reset button located.
My service engine light was caused by a cloged passage from my EGR valve. Mine is a 3.1 with fuel injection 2003. All I needed to do was pull the two bolts over the intake plenum and remove the vacuum connection to the PCV valve. Then clean out the EGR port just below the vacuum connection in the throttle port. I would remove the rubber intake to vacuum it out. The carbon was like rock in there. Service engine light cleared on its own.

THE GEAR INDICATOR LIGHT IS OUT. HAVE CHECKED ALL THE FUSES AND THEY ARE OK. THIS IS THE LIGHT THAT SHOWS WHAT GEAR YOU ARE IN. NO PROBLEM WITH PUTTING THE CAR IN GEAR. JUST CAN'T SEE WHAT GEAR YOU ARE IN BECAUSE THE LIGHT IS OUT. No PRNDL light and no odometer/trip odometer light
This requires lamp replacement - and that means pulling the instrument cluster. I have done this on several cars, it has been easier than one may think. Read up or look for YouTube video for your car. Given the age and one has failed, pretty shortly all will statistically - so replace the rest. This repair takes me about 30 minutes - you may want to leave this to a shop mechanic.

I'm trying to flush the radiator on a 2003 Buick Century but can't find the drain plug.
just pull out the holes.

I would like to flush my radiator system but can't seem to locate the drain on the rad.
You will have to jack the car up and get under it to get to the drain valve, it is located on the back side of the radiator tank, drivers side, if not there then opposite side..

The check engine light is blinking on my buick century 2003 and the engine is making a noise
If your check engine light is blinking it is trying to tell you that there is something wrong with your engine and/or engine control system that needs IMMEDIATE ATTENTION to prevent SEVERE DAMMAGE to your engine or your catalytic converters.
My recommendation is to STOP OPERATING THE VEHICLE and get it towed somewhere so it can be properly diagnosed and repaired.

Need to know if there is any specific process i should use to bleed the cooling system on a 3100 buick century?
If there is a bleed valve near the upper radiator hose, you can use that.
If not, you would have to run the engine with the cap loose until the thermostat opens to let the air escape.

how do you reset the service engine soon light
Put the key into the ignition and turn it to "Run." Don't start the engine. Press down slowly and fully on the gas pedal, then release it. Do this three times in five seconds. Watch for the "Service Engine Soon" light to start blinking. This indicates that the system is resetting itself. Turn the ignition to "Off" and wait one minute. Start the Century's engine. The Service Engine Soon light will flash for a moment, then turn off. If it doesn't do this, repeat the process.if all else fails...Disconnect your battery for one minute and then reconnect it again that should reset it, if the problem that you have in your car is still there then that light will come on again after whille then you gona need to run diagnostics on your car to find the problem if it will not come on again then that should take care of it.9-08-2006Let me tell you about my experience with my 1995 Buick Century. When my buick sits for a while while running, the radiator fan comes on, you know?Well, after the fan does its thing, SOMETIMES the "SERVICE ENGINE SOON" light comes on.THEN.....when this happens again, it may take a couple times of after the fan comes on, then....the light goes off !!!Its like it needs to go thru some sort of "CYCLE" , THEN THE LIGHT GOES OFF...Who knows though, you may have LEGITIMATE problems with your car.good luck.
