97 dodge ram window and door lock problems
Hi my names is Allen!
Chrysler vehicles have a lot of problems with the regulator/motor assemblies, but first lets make sure its not the switch. See if you can get it to stop working again, once it stops go to the other switch and see if it works from that switch. If it does not work from either switch, then the most likely cause is the regulator/motor assembly.
Before running out and buying the part I have a question, when the window quits working, does all the other windows work ok? If they do, go buy the part. If they all the windows are doing the same thing you may have a switch or wiring problem.
Now, on your door locks, does none of the locks work or just one lock?

Cooling system requires burp.
A large air pocket can sometimes be tricky to get rid of. The easiest way is to jack the front end up in the air with the wheels off the ground and support with jack stands, remove the radiator cap(make sure engine is cool) and allow to sit over night in this condition. The elevated front end will allow the air pocket to move to the most highest point and then escaping out the top of the radiator, after doing this procedure make sure to inspect coolant level in radiator and overflow reservoir and top off as needed.
How to Replace a Heater Core
Removal & Installation
-
Disconnect the negative battery cable.
CAUTION
After disconnecting the negative battery cable, wait 2 minutes
for the driver-s/passenger-s air bag system capacitor to discharge
before attempting to do any work around the steering column or
instrument
-
On diesel models, remove the passenger side battery and battery tray.
-
Remove the instrument panel by performing the following procedures:
-
Remove the air bag control module (ACM) and bracket from the floor panel tunnel.
-
Remove the trim from both cowl side inner panels.
-
Remove the steering column-to-instrument panel opening cover.
-
Remove the 2 hood latch release handle-to-instrument panel lower reinforcement screws and lower the handle to the floor.

Disconnect the driver-s side air bag module wiring harness connector from the lower instrument panel reinforcement.
-
Place the wheels in the straight-ahead position and lock the
steering wheel. Remove the steering column without disassembling it.
-
From under the driver-s side of the instrument, disconnect or remove the following items:
Parking brake release handle linkage rod from the parking brake mechanism located on the left cowl side inner panel.
Instrument panel wiring harness connector from the parking brake switch located on the parking brake mechanism.
Three wiring harness connectors (body wiring harness, headlight,
dash) from the 3 junction block connector receptacles located closest
to the dash panel.
Head light/dash-to-instrument panel bulkhead wiring harness connector screw and disconnect the connector.
Instrument panel-to-door wiring harness connector located directly below the bulkhead wiring harness connector.
Infinity sound system wiring harness connector (if equipped),
located at the outboard side of the instrument panel bulkhead connector.
Stop light switch electrical connector.
Vacuum harness connector located near the left side of the heater/air conditioning housing.
-
Under the passenger-s side of the instrument panel, disconnect the radio antenna coaxial cable connector.
-
Loosen both sides of the instrument panel cowl side roll-down bracket screws about
1
/
2
inch (13mm).
-
Remove the 5 upper instrument panel-to-upper dash panel screws; remove the center screw last.
-
Roll down the instrument panel and install a temporary hook in
the center hole on top of the panel. Attach the other end to the center
hole in the top of the dash panel. The opening should be approximately
18 inches (46cm).
-
Disconnect the instrument panel-to-heater/air conditioning housing assembly wiring harness connectors.

In the engine compartment, remove the heater/air conditioning housing assembly-to-chassis nuts.
-
In the passenger-s compartment, remove the heater/air conditioning housing-to-dash panel nuts.
-
Pull the heater/air conditioning housing assembly rearward far enough to clear the studs and air conditioning drain tube holes.
-
Remove the heater/air conditioning housing assembly from the vehicle.
-
Remove the upper-to-lower heater/air conditioning housing screws and remove the upper housing.
-
Remove the heater core from the lower housing.

I have a 97 Dodge Ram 1500 5.2 that wont start
COULD BE A BAD FUEL PUMP EVEN THOUGH ITS NEW, TRY THE FUSES IN THE MAIN FUSE BOX UNDER THE HOOD, ALSO TRY DISCONNECTING THE BATTERY CABLES FOR ABOUT 5 MINS, LASTLY IT MAY BE THE ECM [computer on fire wall]
HOPE THIS HELPS SOMEWHAT
Power lock help
Hello,
More often than not, when the ABS light is stuck "on" in a dodge ram, it means a fuse has blown.
The first step would be to check your "master fuse box" under the hood (a black plastic box between the brake booster and the battery) for any major fuses that have blown.
After that, feel free to check your smaller fuse panel underneath the dash for blown fuses.
I hope this helps!
Door lock problem
Most probably the lock actuator is frozen in down position. it could be your lock cylinder, but the actuator is the most common problem. You have to remove the inner trim panel to access it.
The window fell down inside
Hi my name is Allen!
This is a common problem with Chrysler vehicles.
The cable on the regulator has broken allowing the window to slide downward, unfortunately the only repair is replacement of the Regulator/Motor Assembly which must be bought at the dealership.
To remove the door panel, you must remove all the screws and remove the handle that opens the door, next grab the panel and pull upward if doesn't move upward you will need to pull it toward you away from the door, pull very hard the clips holding it are very tight, sometimes you will need to install a screw driver at the bottom of the panel, put it between the panel and the door and pry toward you. They will make a pooping sound that sounds like you breaking the door but its OK, pull it hard, then lift upward and toward you. That's It!

1997 Dodge Ram Van gas pedal stuck almost had wreck?
I honestly don't see how changing the computer could cause this - I would first suspect a broken return spring on the throttle body. With the engine off, trace the gas pedal's linkage (or cable) back to the point where it attaches to the engine (throttle body or carbuerator if not fuel-injected). There will be a shaft it attaches to on the throttle body (or carb). Disconnect the linkage at this point and try to rotate this by hand, it should snap back when released. If it does, you probably have a 'frozen' cable which needs replaced. Don't forget to replace the linkage where you removed it now. If it doesn't, look for a 'missing spring' on the throttle body's side or any place the linkage appears bent or could 'snag' on anything. If the attachment point doesn't rotate smoothly or 'binds', or kind of 'wobbles' in it's holes the shaft bushings need replaced or the shaft is bent and needs rebuilt. While your'e there, regardless, you should take some 3-in-1 oil and lightly lubricate any points where the shaft, cable, or linkages touch any other part.

Did you reset the ignition timing correctly? If so, your new cam belt is probably a tooth or two off.
Engine swap
I just put a 96 360 magnum in my 97 dodge 4x4 that had a 318 in it. Yes it does fit. I noticed that the flex plate on the 360 has balance weights on it and the 318 does not. Make sure the plate stays with the 360. The torque converter and exhaust manifolds bolted right up. The 96 360 engine had different connector plugs on the Map sensor, Crank Sensor and Tps. Get those off of your 318.
I did notice that with the 96 PCM for the 360 my fuel guage was off quite a bit. The 360 will run off of the 318 computer at least if your in a bind for Money.
How come why my 98 Dodge ram starts and runs fine but when I switch it off it won't start back up

I have a 2012 Dodge Ram.. I Keep trying and eventually it starts. I have replaced the fuel pump, spark plugs, and fuel relay. Once it gets started and warms up then I have no trouble starting it.
If you're experiencing difficulty starting your 2012 Dodge Ram, even after replacing the fuel pump, spark plugs, and fuel relay, there may be several other possible causes. Here are a few things you can check:
- Check the Battery: A weak battery can cause starting issues, especially in colder temperatures. Check the battery voltage and consider replacing the battery if it's not holding a charge or is more than a few years old.
- Inspect the Ignition System: The ignition system includes the spark plugs, ignition coils, and spark plug wires. If any of these components are worn, damaged, or corroded, it could cause starting problems. Check these components and replace them as necessary.
- Check the Fuel System: While you've already replaced the fuel pump and fuel relay, it's possible that there is still an issue with the fuel system. Check the fuel pressure to make sure it's within the manufacturer's specifications. If it's too low, there could be a problem with the fuel filter or fuel injectors.
- Check the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor: The engine coolant temperature sensor can affect the fuel system and cause starting problems if it's faulty or not reading the engine temperature correctly. Check this sensor and replace it if necessary.
- Check the Starter Motor: The starter motor could be failing or not engaging properly, which could cause starting problems. Check the starter motor and have it tested if necessary.
If none of these suggestions resolves the issue, it's recommended to take your vehicle to a certified mechanic or dealership for further diagnosis and repair.
