2000 Dodge Ram 3500 Questions & Answers
I have a 2000 dodge 3500 with a 5.9 gas engine.
dealer not interested in your problem
low vacuum at idle ( normally 15 inches of mg) indicates problem intake valves
check the valve clearance ( .010"intake hot .012" exhaust hot)
you can set it the same cold as the settings will change but still be within specs for the hydraulic followers to compensate
the firing order could have 2 ht leads crossed and that will also cause low vacuum
Miss fire #6 cyl 2000 dodge 3500 van 5.9 egine
100 PSI is way to low, I think you have a burnt valve. Check the cylinder compression on all cylinders, no cylinder should be 5% lower than the highest cylinder pressure measured or the engine will run rough or misfire.

2000 dodge ram 2500 truck 4wd the abs light and air bag light were on then the check engine light went on then all of a sudden all the gauges and warning lights went dead and off including the tach and other gauges. But now all the gauges are working and the check engine light went off with all the others and the tach and other gauges are working. what is the problem with this truck ? The only code it read was p1687 from the dtc. Is the problem the pcm or something else.

Is it auto or manual?? If it's manual I would say your clutch has thrown in the towel, if it's auto if could be transmission oil dirty and will need replacing, hope this helps
