Code p1693 what is it and how do you clear it
P1693 is just a companion code.
Means either the ECM or PCM has a code in it.
It usually comes with another code, but often that code has already cleared itself, but the 1693 is a leftover.
You need to scan the computer for the other code. To scan the computer you will need to take to autozone or your mechanic to have them use there scan tool. They can also remove the codes.
Good Luck
Replaced clutch slave and master cylinders w/ oem
You need to adjust your clutch rod since you replaced your clutch in order to make it release properly. They should have done this at the shop that did the work. Crawl under the truck and you'll see the clutch rod from the clutch pedal to the tranny's clutch fork arm. On that rod you will see a nut or maybe two, tighten both of them about four complete revolutions and your problem is fixed.
2001 Ram 3500 Truck: replacing powersteering pump on 1999 dodge 1 ton 3...
it is best to remove the pwr st. pump and vaccum pump assy as a unit which is held to the front cover w/2 15mm head bolt and a support bracket on the bottom bolt next to the block @ the pwr st pump. and disconnect all lines. get the seal kit and replace them @ this time. if you don't and just replace the pump you will probably develop an oil leak where the shaft meshes w/ the adapter.
I have put a hitch on my 2001 Ram 3500 now I would
They sell a pre-made T that you just unplug your existing wiring and plug in the T. The T has the flat plug on the end of it. Very easy, and don't have to worry about splicing. It just plugs right in.
Need instructions for installing parking brake
This is a big job for such a small part. I suggest you repair/replace rotors, pads, and anything else back there while you are at it. You will need to remove both wheels on both sides, as well as the axles (I think). See my earlier post on Rear Rotor removal to see how this is done.
You will need a large spindle nut to remove the axles.
DISASSEMBLY:
Once you have access to the parking brakes inside the rotor hat:
1. Lock out the parking brake w/a pair of Vise grips (on the parking brake cable under the cab)
2. Disengage teh park brake cable from behind the rotor assembly to allow easier disassembly of the parking brake shoes.
3. Disassemble the rear park brake shoes.
REASSEMBLY:
1. Reassemble the rear parking brake shoes. This is a typical, small brake drum configuration. Do one side at a time - so you can see how to reassemble each small part. Keep the springs and parts oriented the same: front to front and interior to interior, etc.
2. Release the parking brake cable
3. Install the disc brake rotor(s)
4. Install the disc brake caliper(s)
5. Install tire & wheel assembly
6. Lower the vehicle
Dlpehow to replace rear rotors
Don't do it before you have to - but if you've got to here you go . . .
HINT: You have to pull both rear axles so make sure you've got plenty of side clearance and clean area to lay the interior axle parts on - to keep from contaminating upon rebuild. An impact wrench is needed as well as a large spindle socket. Measure the spindle nut then go purchase your socket. I don't think you can do this job w/o it as you will mess up your parts if you beat it off.
DISASSEMBLY:
1. Raise and support the vehicle
2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly
3. Remove the disc brake caliper
3.1 Remove top of Master Cylinder and keep open
3.2 Compress the disc brake caliper w/C clamp & wood block
3.3 Remove the caliper pin bolts
3.4 Remove the banjo bolts (replace the copper washer upon reinstallation)
3.5 Use coat hanger to support caliper assy out of way
4. Remove spindle nut
5. Remove axle shaft out of axle housing (if dually) - pull it straight out. Be careful not to ding the interior spline on the way out.
6. Remove hub and rotor assembly
[Note: It's a good time to replace parking brake pads too. You're right there.]
REASSEMBLY:
Is the reversal of dis-assembly and removal. Make sure you use new copper washers for your banjo bolts upon reassembly). Good luck.

? fuel pump? when u turn the key have someone listen near the gas cap area for a small motor coming on. No sound, means it has to do with the fuel pump. check ur fuses under the hood for the fuel pump. i know u can also check the fuel line coming up to the engine(be carefull when disconnecting, if working properly gas will shoot out), if no gas comes out, u aren't getting the pressure u need. This happened to me before. Had to replace fuel pump.
have u had problems with oxygen censors, or fuel injector before?
My 2001 Dodge RAM 3500
If the fuse is bad it will not work completely.I think there are may be broken wire.As they come into contact it starts working and cuts out to stop it.
I am trying to replace the fuel filter
Fuel Filter for 5.2 L
Removal & Installation
To Remove:
NOTE: The combination fuel filter and fuel pressure regulator is located on the top of the fuel pump module.

- The fuel filter/regulator from its rubber grommet by twisting and pulling straight up
CAUTION
To prevent damage to the coiled fuel line, ensure the filter/regulator is not more than three inches from the fuel pump module.
- The old fuel line clamp, by carefully cutting it ensuring not to damage the plastic fuel line (discard the clamp)
- The plastic fuel line from the filter/regulator by gently pulling downward
- The filter/regulator from the fuel pump module
To Install:
- Install or connect the following:
- A new clamp over the plastic fuel line
- The filter/regulator to the fuel line
NOTE: Rotate the filter/regulator in the fuel line until it is points toward the front of the tank.
