locate the intake air hose which comes out of your air cleaner assembly follow the hose to the intake air sensor

Probably the ground for that side. It should be close around the lights and wiring there. When you checked with voltmeter, your ground lead was the negative battery or a convenient ground close by? Check again using the ground wire terminal in the pigtail as the ground for meter. If ground is bad for that, the meter won't register.

The battery is good?

Check fuel pressure and make sure fuel filter and air filter are clean. If all are ok and with in spec...chances are you have injector failure starting.

had the same problem. it was the throttle positioning sensor. it's located above the fender well on the drivers side. it's an easy fix but costly...350.00 you have to calibrate it once installed... before re connecting the battery... slowly push the pedal all the way to the floor then release. put it all back togeather and it shold work fine.

many durangos have a leak problem at top of windshield on passenger side. it will drip down to the top of the amp that is located in the passenger kickpanel. It will blow the fuse or fry the amp depending on where the water gets on the amp.

Trans fluid is overheating for some reason, Or needs to be changed,

remove the fill plug before you do anything. If you can not remove the fill plug there is no reason to remove the drain plug since you will not be able to fill the transmission once the fluid is drained out.Once the fill plug is out, remove the drain plug. Let oil drain into a drain pain. Reinstall the drain plug. Fill the transmission with the appropriate fluid until the fluid starts to drain from the fill hole. Reinstall the fill plug. depending on your abs system, they are both front wheel hubs, and one on top of rear axle (this one fails most often and cost about $20 @autozone)

You need to make sure that the starter is positioned right first, sometimes they need to be shimmed to change the position. In some cases though this can mean a warped a fly wheel. Make sure none of the teeth the fly wheel are missing. I had one missing once and anytime it hit that spot i had to move it which isnt easy on an automatic.

check the relay and the low pressure switch

Inspect the connector at the resistor, seen many melt due to faulty resister, if u have replaced resister u may have fix half the problem already, try wiggling the connector when the fan is on high.

I've seen some 4-wheel drive vehicle have vent tubes coming from the axle housing. Are you sure it's a vacuum tube?

Oil light at idle indicates engine wear. New oil pump may not help if pressure is dissapated by worn bearings in journals and other moving parts. Blow by indicates worn rings "Puffing" possibly a cracked ring. Sounds like this engine has been driven hard or maybe abused. Not enough oil changes? Possibly need a rebuild to restore power and performance. I would do a cylinder pressure test first, see if compresion is any good. Will show any one cylinder problem also. If money is an issue - it starts and runs, just drive it till it stops..? Sorry to bring bad news. The oil light should have warned you before the purchase.
