Recheck the fuel pump - it's not the engine. Something about seating and fixing the fuel pump has disturbed something. Investigate around that, probably pull the pump again and thoroughly inspect.
You have to remove the air cleaner hose to the throttle body to access the sensor. I hope it helps. You will see it, its on end of engine. Remove connector then the bolts holding it on. God-Bless! Hope this helps you. The dodge 2.0 is known for bad camshaft sensors, certain years.
Makes no difference where you got the vehicle, A recall is a recall no matter who you are. If you have this recall problem, take it to any dealer and they cannot refuse you.
Ok here is the deal, the lifters are poorly designed and prone to noise or "tick", the way to silence this is not just new lifters but new rocker arm assemblies which include new lifters. Use the best parts not the cheapest ones, factory new one are improved from previous designs. If you still want to just replace the lifters you must take the rockers to a machine shop and have the lifters pressed out and replaced by them. Another suggestion is if you live in a warm climate use 10W-30W synthetic oil.
Car will not start how ? A crank- no - start or a no crank - no - start < meaning when you turn the key to the start position does anything happen ? Starter engages an spins the engine an doesn't start an run ! Or when you turn the key to start the position nothing happens ? Who told you it was a fuse ? Are there any light's lit on the instrument cluster , SECURITY ? If Nothing happens Find the starter relay an jump pin's 30 & 87 , if nothing is wrong with starter , battery , battery cables it should spin the engine . Is your vehicle automatic transmission or stick ? Automatic has a neutral safety switch , won't let vehicle engine spin unless in park or neutral . Manual has clutch switch , won't let starter engage unless the clutch pedal is pressed . Both of these switches can go bad . There are videos on youtube on basic electrical trouble shooting . Also on testing starter circuit . How to voltage drop test starter motor circuit
First you have test the circuit to find out if it's shorted or an open circuit ! Do you have DVOM - digital volt ohm meter ? You can buy a cheap one for $10.00 - 15.00 at auto parts store . Then you'll need wiring diagrams so you test the right circuits . You can find free wiring diagrams at http://bbbind.com/free_tsb.html . You mite want to watch this video .https://youtu.be/efKoWifdcag
Hi Margaret, The link below is a youtube video showing how to replace a crank sensor on a 1997 dodge neon, I know it's not a 1996 BUT motor should be the same, I hope this helps....... CHEERS.. 1997 Dodge Neon no start crank sensor problems
A number of reasons that dash lights will not come on. Let us start with the first. Do the parking lights come on on the outside of the vehicle when turning the switch on? If so, then I would suspect that you most likely have a bad dimmer switch. That is the switch that dims the dash lights. They commonly go out.
If the parking lights are not on then I would suspect a parking light fuse. If parking light fuse is good then I would suspect a headlight switch.
Most likely, based on experience with Neons, it is usually the dimmer switch. You can buy a dimmer switch on the internet or at your local auto parts store for a relatively decent price.
you will have to check for power and ground and reference at the coil pack. if these are good then the coil pack is no good. check for codes in ECM there could be a crank code set. if one of the voltage checks is bad then you will have to find were the lose of voltage is and repair. note the ground for the coil circuit is controlled by the ECM with what is called coil drivers.
that is a hum dinger, largest ever posted, in one shot.
very good.!
one word , the transmission slips. (never drive a slipping tranny)
overheat indicator.! that is key.
many newer cars will change the transmission shifting any time
the engine over heats.
and overheat wins over transmission , every time.
if the engine burns up, what good is any transmission.? nada.
solve overheat first.
slip or flare.
is when the engine RPM rises fast and the car dont go faster.
SLIPS.
and slipping burns up trannyclutchs and increases the damage. inside the transmission, dont do that. dont allow it,
park it and fix it.
on some tranny there is a temperature sensor that the TCM
watches and changes shift patterns based on AFT fluid temps.
and if the ATF fluid gets too hot , it takes actions. to keep the tranny from harm.
why not get a scan too and see what DTC errors there are..
DTC, engine overheate.
DTC< tranny overheat (caused by above)
