Car Dying, Not starting, and can't get over 2.5 RPM
I have a 2001 Dodge Intrepid and had a similar problem; while, in motion my car would turn off so I would pull over with its flow. I would wait there for about 20 to 30 minutes and tried turning it back on and it did. This would happen often. After, doing my research and having a few guys helping me to figure this out, and changing a few sensors that cost over $50.00 a piece that didn't solve the problem. I find out that the crankshaft position sensor needed to be replaced; which, I did and I only paid $12.00 at AutoZone. It never again turned off on me again. (of course only when, I would turn it off). I hope this helps you and if you have any other question please ask, I've had too many issues with this vehicle and my only solution is to repair it. I am unemployed, so I can't afford to purchase another vehicle or hire a mechanic. Good luck :-)

My 02 dodge intrepid shuts down after running a short period of time
Hi Kenneth, I'm glad to help! There is a ton of thing that can cause the engine to die. The most common problem we found here a the dealer is the Crank Sensor. NOTE: This amay or may not be your problem but its the best place to start. NOTE: If you decide to try it, be sure to replace both the Crank Sensor and the Cam Sensor because they are both wired on the same circuit and could be one or the other doing it. Hope this helps and have an awesome day Kenneth.

My 2002 Dodge Intrepid will start quickly on cold days, but not on hot days, or as the weather heats up in the afternoon! Why?
A good mechanic should have access to proper manual (if they don't already know proper flow of current) that has diagram for that circuit, that will allow him to use a simple multimeter to check different points for voltage, to determine exactly where trouble spot is. Proper cable adjustment and finding out if current running in and out of safety neutral /back-up switch when required, is where I would look first. I'll look for a wiring schematic for that circuit that you can print out and take with you. Hopefully I can find the right one. Have you tried starting it while holding key to start, and slowly moving shifter all the way back and forward, and listen for even a quick engagement try of starter?

Error codes P0088 and P0251
Code 88 is for the fuel pressure being too high.
Code 251 is for a problem with the fuel volume / quantity sensor which measures the amount of fuel in the line.

Battery size
Seller should have proper size listed but Interstate recommends 700-800CCA . I would stay within those cold cranking amps. (CCA)

Brown stuff leaking under car
ide def say oil leak check seals and hoses n sorry to say unless u have the 3.2 u might be in trouble the 3.5 and i believe the 2.7 both have sludge issues that form in engine
Oil light flickers when slowing down or stopping
check to make sure the oil level is correct. if this is good and there is no engine noise then it could be the oil pressure switch has gone bad and needs replacing. if you have an engine noise then get the oil pressure check as you could have a bad oil pump or engine components worn out like bearings.
