How can I tell motor mounts are broken
start the car and with the brakes applied put trans in forward gear and push on the throttle and if the engine raises the mount on the side the engine raises is the side the mount is broken. then put it in reverse and do the same thing if the engine raises then that mount is broken.
How to remove the headrests to put seat covers on
90% of head rests just pull out. the others will have a button where the headrest goes into the seat. If yours doesn't have the button, then push the headrest down and **** it up with some force and it will come out. Just be carefull you don't hit yourself in the face with it. Been there done that
Where is the wiper motor relay located? I found 4 relays under the hood but not marked which relay goes to what component.
that's because it's a wiper control module that I think your looking for what is happening anyway do they work at all ==yes/no only certain positions work===yes/no or won't shut off ===yes/no
that's it right here^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ and the location is in the diagram above but you must check all the fuse/s first Google 1996 ford crown Victoria and download for free to your phone/computer that way you'll always have it then go to roadside emergencies and the passenger fuse box/power distribution box diagram under the hood are there and is needed for times when something happens on the road if your wipers stopped working because you tried to use them without clearing ice away or a big piece of ice got stuck in the cowl where the wipers are you blew the fuse if they work erratically or won't shut off or stop up on the window blocking your vision either the module shown above or the wiper transmission in the wiper motor has failed and must be replaced as a whole unit
Why wont ignition cylinder turn
pull the steering wheel hard to one side while turning the key , if it does not turn try pulling it the other way you will pull hard
Why is my crown vic slow and hot?
I would say your exhaust converter is worn out & blocking
the exhaust from getting out & since you continued to wonder ,
verses actually having the car tested, that you now have ruined the transmission
Why is my 96 crown vic hot and slow?
sounds like a transmission issue. could be a pump or something as simple as really old fluid. not something your likely to repair at home. and unfortunately check engine lights only come on for emissions related issues so most transmission codes don't set the light to let you know there is an issue. you can go down to local auto parts store and have them pull the codes and se if there are any transmission codes. the getting hot in the cab could be from increased temps from the transmission but from the sounds of it you may not have a prayer for saving the transmission. but don't loose all hope start with getting the codes and see where you are. hope this was helpful.
1996 crown vic eratic speedometer
Sounds like the speedometer head. its cheaper to actually replace it rather than repair. find one close to your mileage . usually around $50.00
Cranks but will not start
are you getting spark? Hold the spark plug wire a few sixteenths of an inch from somethig that is metal and connected to the chassis, crank the engine and see if you see a spark (works best in low light and night conditiions).
03 crown vic will turn over and still wont start
You need four things for your car to run: fuel, spark, air, and timing. Until you figure out which is missing, it will be difficult to diagnose the problem. What did you check on the sparkplugs? You can tell a lot from your sparkplugs if you know what to look for, checking if each one gets spark is important. Is it getting fuel? At the right time? There are many components involved in the timing process...depends on what kind of system you have. One of the culprits can be sensors. You will have to have some moderate electrical knowledge and possibly a wiring diagram to properly check these. I will try to follow this question to help as much as i can
