So i recently got a 1997 dodge ram 1500 5.9 with no spark
Which 'Computer' are you referring to? There is more than one on a vehicle like the BCM, TCM, PCM. This may sound silly but have you checked the fuse for the coil pack? Sometimes the repair is that easy. Have you tested the wiring between the computer and the coil with it unplugged at the coil end? Sometimes the insulating coating on wires can get old and brittle so it cracks causing electrical shorts. Remember this is a 26 year old truck.
You basically starting at the plugs and working your way back until you do find power. The part were the power stops is usually the issue. Did the replacement computer give any Trouble Codes?
I have a 1992 Dodge Ram van and nothing will come on, no lights or anything. The starter will not work or anything else. What is the problem?
Start with the basics. Does the vehicle unlock with the remote? Does the A/C and radio work? Do you get the usual lights on the dash when you turn the key to the second position? Do you get ANY noises when you turn the key to crank the engine?
If your not getting dash lights or nothing at all from the starter the first thing you check is the battery. A battery needs somewhere between 12.6 and 13.4 volts to work at its best. Check what voltage is there and work on from that.
If you have full voltage listen to the car as you turn the key. That will give clues as to what the reason could be for the power loss.
2004 dodge durango too many to list but have you ever heard this?
You need to get a professional mechanic to look at this. A front end crash can do more damage than you first expect. There could be damage to the cooling system or damage to the engine itself. What do you mean by "pretty good"? Was It doing anything strange or wrong? What were the codes you got? Comment below with them and I'll try to explain them for you.
Engines can still run when damaged but over time the damage can get steadily worse until the engine starts to cause problems.
1999 dodge Dakota sport v6 cooling fan relay located
It is one of the replaceable relays located in the power distribution center box under the hood on the drivers side. The location should be determinable by looking at the underside of the cover for the location identifications.
When it rains speedo and tach stop working on dash {instrument cluster lights come on} car runs fine. When drys out it's back to normal
This could be an issue with the actual speedo cable. When a old/worn cable gets wet it can sometimes slip inside the connection at the speedo or where it connects to the transmission. Does the speedo needle 'wobble' when you travelling at a constant steady speed? This is a sign of a worn cable or the connector it plugs into.
If it is happening when it rains check the cable at the transmission end isn't getting wet from rain getting in somewhere. There is a possibility here that you might need a new speedo cable. There are temporary fixes but it is best to work out if it's something simple like a loose connector.
If you can get access to the connectors at both ends check they aren't loose. Remember this is a 20 year old vehicle, even speedo cables wear out, especially on higher mileage vehicles.
Can I use a drive shaft from a 4x4 dodge dakota on a 2wd dodge dakota
I'm not sure but I would say No. The 4x4 will have a bigger transmission housing so the shaft is likely to be shorter. If you can get a part number for the one on your Dakota you can compare it to the part number for the 4x4 type. If the parts numbers match it will most likely work.
