Your ac blower doors that direct the air to the vents are vaccum controlled check your vaccum lines going to the ac most of the time it is a leak near the vaccum check valve. The reason it is only top vents is because it is the default setting in the system

when u checked this u do realize the fuel pump only has 12 volts for 1 second then the computer turns it off unless the engine is started? let me know.

code 31 is the evap system, the fumes from the tank, the computer can seal or vent the vapors, and so its telling you theres a big leak its not able to seal, could be a loose or bad gas cap or a broken vacuum line for the system or a vent or purge valve went bad,code 56 is not a code, double check . good luck,hope this is helpful.

The cap is on the distributor which is mounted in the back of the intake manifold. It has 9 wires connected to it.

What year ? there is no dist. cap on newer cars.

if fuse under hood has blown there will be one in main fuse box that has blown as well fuses can look good but are bad need a comunity tester or multy meter to check connection

charge rate should be 13 to 14 volts, if you below that it is probably a weak alternator. be sure to check all wires and cables to the battery and starter. The starter is part of the charging system an loose connection can make weird stuff happen. As far as shifting check electrical connector to trans. if it is unplugged or bad connection PCM can't tell it when to shift.

have the same problem. went kinda slow through a puddle cause someone in front of me was going slow. now wont shift into 4th and my check engine light came on. any ideas? is it the serpentine belt like the answer says above?
