1994 Dodge Ram - Page 7 Questions & Answers
Transsmition takes a long time to shift geers.
first thing to check is the fluid level.Warm up the engine, run through all the gears a few times and finish in neutral. With the engine still running check the trans fluid level with the trans dipstick. If it is low, this will be the problem. If needed, you add fluid through the trans dipstick tube.Hope this helps
When i press the gas peddle the truck respond
To find if it's the engine or the gearbox's fault do this: put it in Neutral, press hard on the brake and do a swift kick on the gas pedal. If the engine revs the same then it's his fault (check the fuel pump and filter), if it speeds up it's the gearbox (most likely low or burned transmission oil).

Changed fuse and brake light still doesnt work
Did you check for voltage at the light socket before replacing the fuse?
Was the fuse blown? If so, you need to find out why it blew. (fuses do not blow for no reason) If not, why did you replace it?
Did you check for voltage in and out of the brake switch? Brake switch failures are common on Dodge trucks. There should be voltage going in, but none coming out the other side until the brake pedal is depressed. If there is voltage going in, the fuse is not blown. If there is still no voltage on the other side when the brake pedal is depressed, then the brake switch is your problem-child.
The next step is to check for voltage in and out of the multifunction switch. (turn signal switch) The brake lamp voltage is switched on and off by the turn signal switch. Failure of the turn signal switch can cause a "no brake light" symptom. This is a common failure among most makes of vehicles. This failure can often be verified by stepping on the brake pedal and wiggling the turn signal switch. If the brake lights flicker on and off while doing this, the mutifunction switch needs to be replaced.
Fuel pressure intermittently drops causing sputter and die.
check for 12v constant at your fuel pump if you are not getting that replace your relay.
if you are getting 12 volts at your fuel pump the fuel pump is possible to run tuel it gets warm then shut down to a lower rpm I would then replace the fuel pump
Replaceing driver side air bag
First things first, remove your negative battery cable off the battery and wait ten minutes to discharge the drivers airbag squid, look behind , and the sides of the steering wheel, you will see 2 screws, one on each side, remove them, than the air bag assembly will lift off, there is wires attached to it, just unplug them and its out of there, reverse the procedure, and install your neg cable back on, you should be good to go. while the cable was off the acm cleared its self of codes, when the keys is turn on the system will do a selt test, and air bag light shoud go out. GOOD LUCK, RDJRP

Need help with 1994 Dodge Ram Charging system Repair
FULLY CHARGE BATTERY BEFORE USING.If you dont you will burn out the alt. within minutes.
Does the new alt have all the same connections as old one?
After charging bat and installing new alt. typical battery load test and alt. output test should tell if there may be other problems.
Intermitenly my headlights flash on and off.
Check if a relay exists, and if so, the contacts within could be arc damaged enough to cause intermittent failure (each time they open is a chance for arcing). Likewise, a potential arc failure site is the dimmer switch on the steering column.
...Could check if problem is up-system from the relay (if uses a relay), by placing a jumper wire (from battery or positive source) to the low current connector of the relay (which would be coming from the dashboard/column switching), in order to lock the relay to "on" (as if the interior light switch was now perfectly on).
...Similarly can check if relay by jumping across high current leads (should have the thicker wires that go from battery to relay and then high current lead of relay to headlights)
